We stayed for one night before leaving on the Alaska Ferry. The room was very nice with comfortable bedding and lots of space. Our ferry left late at night and Laura graciously let us stay until the last minute. Breakfast was wonderful - muffins, fruit, homemade sausage and pancakes. Excellent company! Laura went out of her way to make sure... More

We had good lodging experiences everywhere during our recent Alaska trip but two places were especially outstanding and one of them was Sheltered Harbor B & B in Haines. Great views, super outstanding breakfast and the hosts could not have been nicer and more helpful.

We have stayed here twice and will return again. The hosts are so friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is delicious and plentiful. There is always a great story or two at the breakfast table. They are good at recommending restaurants and activities. We feel very at home at this B&B. There is a nice little... More

The hosts make the visit. Laura met us when we arrived and got us settled in. You eat breakfast essentially in their own residence as they visit with you, provide fresh fruit salad, muffins, pancakes, sausage, coffee and OJ. We enjoyed talking with Byron as he prepared breakfast as he had some very entertaining stories to share. Their family and... More

Laura and Byron are the consummate hosts. It was great being able to get to know the area through their eyes. Their BnB is more than adequate for a travelers needs. The rooms are extremely clean and well equipped. The French toast, sausage, cinnamon muffins, and fresh fruit were all delicious! Thanks for a great stay! This would not be... More

Really comfortable at this B&B top floor room with great views out to snow covered mountains even in June!! we had exceptional weather but the view from the breakfast room made my day and it just got better from there. Breakfast cooked by Laura was wonderful homemade sausage.

Byron and Laura were great welcoming hosts, and make an awesome breakfast. The view of the harbor from the front room and deck are fabulous. It is an easy walk to town. Hosts provide transportation to the ferry. The only negative was getting sandwiches at the fish trailer nearby; only 1 of our 8 pieces of "salmon" were pink, the... More
