If you are a typical Alaskan tourist, your hotel is a crash pad, the real point is outside your door. We arrive late, on the way from Denali to Homer and just need lodging for one night. Don't take me wrong, the hotel is first class ( my wife did find it a bit dirty). No continental breakfast ( hey,... more

We brought a 3 family group of 10 to the Alyeska Hotel in Girdwood for spring break. The service at the hotel was excellent - from the smiling and personable housekeeping staff to the wait staff and desk staff , valets, and ski school and ski shop personnel. From the moment we made our complex reservations of adjacent rooms for... more

This hotel has been featured on Travel channel and touts a world-class restaurant and a luxurious stay. None of the above is true. We stayed for 1 night as a "treat" as part of an 8-day vacation to AK (2nd trip). We visited the property the first time we were in AK and decided to stay for a romantic weekend... more

The hotel itself has an understated refined rustic woodsiness about it. Our king room was on the smaller side but we had great views facing the mountain/tram. Next time, we'll opt for a suite. The upside is that the room was very clean. The bathroom was as pictured but the faucet had come out of its place and had been... more

My husband and I went on a week long vacation to Alaska in April 2007, and spent four nights at the Hotel Alyeska. Our main reason for staying here was to try the mountain skiing in Alaska. The hotel decor is elegant. Beautiful wood paneling in all the public places, leather couches in public areas, a giant diorama of a... more

We just returned from Alyeska yesterday. We were in Anchorage for 5 days then onto Girdwood for 3 days to snow ski with our 3 kids and our extended family who live in Anchorage. Skiing in Alyeska is much different than say, Tahoe. Mostly blues which would be comparible to black diamonds in Tahoe, very steep!!! For my husband and... more

Hotel was nice enough - rooms are nice albeit a little small Ski shop / tram area is well organised / efficient Skiing good for blue + runs. If you want to ski greens do not go to Alyeksa Biggest problem in the hotel was good. Most restraunts serve the same over priced average food. Going into Girdwood good food... more

This hotel has made quite an impressive leap from a slow and steady decline a few years ago. The newly refurbished rooms are still a bit small for my taste but they are beautiful, clean and well maintained. The beds are more comfortable than I could ever describe. The property is beautiful and I don't believe I have ever had... more

My family and I stayed at the Aleyeska Resort for a week while on our Alaska vacation. The hotel is in a central location and the drive is easy to any destination. Our room was great, we booked a junior suite and the views were outstanding. The bed is comfortable, but with all the activitiy involved on the vacation a... more

Have stayed at this hotel before the room remodels. The remodels are very nice. Stayed in a larger suite the first time, but this time was only able to stay in a standard room. The suites are very nice, but the standard rooms are very small, especially for 2. However, the views are fantastic from the front facing rooms. Staff... more
