What can I say! We just got back from an enchanted weekend at the Hotel Alyeska with the kids. The first thing we did was put the robes and slippers on the kiddos and head down to the indoor saltwater pool. With the snow falling outside made it a magical experience. Then we got back and ordered a gormet pizza... more

My favorite hotel of my 10-night stay in Alaska! Definitely the most high-end property where we stayed, with valet parking, room service, on-site spa, lovely indoor pool, outdoor gardens, several dining options (although we ate elsewhere), several shops, game room, fish pond, aerial tram access to the top of the mountain. I wish that we had spent more than one... more

My family really liked this hotel. It is an attractive property both inside and outside with pleasant gardens, well-maintained hiking trails, good restaurants, an indoor pool, fitness faciliities, a knowledgeable concierage staff, and the novelty of the tram to the top of the mountain. We stayed here three nights and never lacked for things to do. We did see two... more

Stayed here for 2 nights at the end of May. Was Memorial Weekend. However very quiet. I do not think they were full. We arrived around 2 and our room was ready. The room was clean and the carpet, bedspreads and furnishing were new. The first morning we had to drive to Whittier for a day boat tour. It was... more

We stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights in May 2008 and we liked it very much. First I wasn’t sure if we should stay here on our first night in Alaska since it’s 40 miles from Anchorage and I thought that we would be too tired to drive there after our long flight. I’m happy that I... more

We stayed for two nights in June and couldn't have been more pleased with the resort and the people. We arrived around 10:30 in the morning and went to the front desk with the idea of leaving our luggage while we explored Girdwood. We were pleasantly surprised that a room was available and we were able to check in immediately.... more

Staying here was the best part of my visit to Alaska. The view from 7 Glaciers Restaurant was incredible. Our iternary planner had booked us one night, but everything was so nice we came back for another night. The beds and pillows are so comfortable and both rooms we stayed in had a beautiful view of the mountains. Very clean... more

Paid $378.48 for a room with double beds (6/25/08). What a disappointment. 1) Room Service (turndown) threw everything that was on the bed, onto the floor. Found some items under the bed. 2) 5:00am Chainsaw motor running outside by the ski lift 3) 6:30am wakeup call came at 6:43, when I called to notify them of this, they claimed that... more

Girdwood is beautiful. One would imagine that staying in a huge resort hotel in this area would be heavenly. And, indeed, the natural setting among glaciers, mountains, and trees in the summertime would permit a guest to forgive the blips, errors, and mis-steps of this montrosity of a hotel. But there is really no excuse for poor service, ill-trained staff,... more
