We stayed at the Carriage House B&B in Girdwood for the second time. What great hosts. Rachel and Jake are great hosts. The breakfast the next morning was wonderful and we had a great time talking to Rachel and Jake.

We stayed one night in September and found the B&B to be welcoming and comforting. The house was full and yet their was space for all. Found the B&B to be convenient to eateries and the nearby path to downtown provide a short walk without using a car. Great breakfast and warm host. Would recommend to friends without hesitation.

We don't stay very much at bed & breakfasts.....I don't like staying at peoples homes...Some can be great, but, some can make you feel like your imposing..We stayed at this B & B...The owner Rachel was the best host anyone could be...The rooms are large, clean and away from where the owners live..It is like staying at your own private... We landed late in Anchorage and chose to drive to Girdwood rather than stay in the city for our first night of vacation. Would do it again in a heartbeat. Despite the late arrival it was easy to get into our room, beds were comfy and home was spotless. Breakfast the next morning was delicious and robust and the very... More

We had the place with another couple we were traveling with and none of us were quite sure why we weren't offered breakfast. Other than that it was a very nice stay. The place is beautiful and our hostess very cordial. Her husband is an awesome builder.

We are so sorry these folks had a misunderstanding. We do offer the option of renting individual B&B rooms or taking the place privately as the Suite, without hosting or breakfast. In this situation the guests chose the Suite, as they were not sure about the "B&B experience" They booked several months in advance and forgot about choosing this as... More

We stayed at Carriage House for 2 nights while in Girdwood. Beautiful post and beam home built by innkeepers husband. All the rooms are downstairs with a small kitchen in middle of space. The kitchen worked out well for my husband who gets up early and wants coffee. The rooms are a little small but has plenty on room for... More

Just a wonderful feel to this place. You can't go wrong. Rooms are very nice, very clean, very homey. Then up to the dining area - - - WHOA! Breakfast was terrific and Rachel was very helpful in giving advise to everyone.

The dining area, originally designed to host diners for our horse-drawn carriage & sleigh rides, is a 30 foot vaulted ceiling exposing the massive post and beam timber frame structure with large windows exposing the gorgeous mountains and glaciers right outside. More

My friend and I spent only one night in this stunningly beautiful house, presided over by the charming and welcoming Rachel, and would most definitely return. Our room on the ground floor was very comfortable with great shower (very useful was the shampoo/gel dispenser instead of messy little bottles). There was a small kitchen adjacent so we could make tea,... More

Our first stop in Alaska was this amazing bed and breakfast. Rachel was great, the room was perfect, and did I mention the blueberry pancakes! They are a great resource for things to do while in Alaska. We went to the Crow Creek Mine for a gold mining day with Spencer, drove down to Six Mile Creek for river rafting... More

Girdwood is a great place to pick blue berries in August, but you have to share them with the black bears, so make noise while picking, or we'll do the picking for you and serve them in your pancakes =) More

Beautiful home with superb woodwork and carpentry. Clean spacious rooms, use of a small kitchen if needed. Breakfast of spinach scrambled eggs with feta and tomato was delicious. Rachel was a gracious hostess and offered suggestions of activities - based on her recommendation we hiked the Crow Pass Trail which was amazing. Highly recommended.

Crow Pass trail is a favorite trail of mine. Part of the original Iditirod Trail or run for serum, the trail run about 28 miles from Girdwood to Eagle River. The first 4 miles is spectacular, passing old goldmine ruins, a series of waterfalls and a pristine lake at the top, one more mile and you are at Raven Glacier,... More
