We stayed here one night looking for a place to stay that was affordable in the area. We met the owner who was very nice and gave me some GREAT tips about hiking in the area. The kitchen was full of items to make for breakfast and we found the room to be comfortable and clean. Loved it.

Nice little B&B in Girdwood. The place is clean and nicely decorated. The owner is really nice and helpful, and there is breakfast provided.

The place is very clean and the owner is very friendly and helpful. The TV might be small as the other reviews said, but we didn't come all the way to Alaska to watch TV. We highly recomand this place.

We live in Anchorage and really enjoy this place. The living room has huge windows with views of the mountain and ski lift. You can almost ski from the mountain to the front door. It has a beautiful kitchen. And the staff are helpful and friendly.

We stayed three nights in one of the lower level rooms. The common area and our room were both clean, bright and updated. The bed was very comfortable and our bathroom was well maintained and private. There was a TV in our room, but since we weren't in Alaska to watch TV we didn't really care about the size, etc.... Teenyrae, Thank you for the positive feedback. FYI, the neighbors are nearly finished with their construction project (way behind schedule). I recall the other guests you mentioned - not a good situation for any of the parties involved - but if that's as bad as it ever gets, I'll take it. We've been very fortunate to have considerate and responsible... More

Stayed at the Dancing Bears (now called Girdwood Hotel, nightly rentals) July 2010 for 3 nights in "The Summit". The top floor suite is as spectacular as the pictures on their website, but the pictures don't nearly do justice to the size and open floor plan. The open living/dining/kitchen area is huge, with vaulted ceiling and a direct view of... More

We stayed 3 days in July in the Dancing Bears B&B and passed a marvelous time there. Girdwood is a quiet location but has it all: hiking trails, ski slopes (winter of course), nice resto's and bars. Close to many places in this largest state of the US. Anchorage, Whittier (glacier cruise), the Kenai Peninsula are all within 30 minutes... More

When we arrived, the first thing I noticed was that I had to have my shoes off in the B&B. I only had sandals so was expected to walk in there(with other guests) on bare feet which seemed unsanitary to me. We had to squeeze through a tiny hallway where there was a washer and dryer to get to our... More

We stayed at Dancing Bears for 2 nights in the Northface room in July '08. While reading the previous reviews, I can sympathize with some, but I definitely disaggree with others. Here is my take. The place is very confortable, although clearly not a 5 star hotel. If in need of such luxurious accomodations, try the Hilton in downtown Anchorage... More

Another couple, my husband and I spent one night at the Dancing Bears B&B, and we were pleasantly surprised with the accommodations. We are casual travellers, and appreciated the host's, Derek's, information about things to do in town, suggestions of places to eat, (we chose Maxine's) directions, and even a hand drawn map of a suggested hike that took us...
