I live in Anchorage but was looking for a place to crash over the weekend in Girdwood for a two day bike ride. I reviewed Tripadvisor and settled on the Timberline Drive B&B. I'd actually clarify this place as a vacation rental vs. a B&B, as I have stayed in both B&B's and vacation rentals. I'd call it a vacation... More

We actually have switched over from being a bnb to now just being a vacation rental. We do still provide breakfast material, ie coffee beans, teas, milk, orange juice, muffins, fresh sourdough bread, eggs, homemade jams, cereals, oatmeal, etc... This is all stocked in your kitchen for you to cook when convenient. More

We stayed here for 3 nights during our vacation on the Kenai Peninsula. While staying here, we visited the Alyeska Resort, Winner Creek Trail, The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, and Portage Glacier. As their web-site describes, the Timberline BnB is actually two apartments in a building the size of a moderately large house. We had the "suite" side, which was... More

We have had black out blinds throughout the house since 2001 and this is the first time anyone has brought up the high window as an issue. We will go ahead and order a blind for that window as we do want all who stay to sleep well. As for the hot tub, yes it is shared between both sides... More

The four of us traveling together stayed at Timberline BB in July 2011 on our way to Seward. The place is great and spotless. Gail has thought of everything you need and put it in the chalet for you to use. We were on a time schedule otherwise we would have liked to stay longer. There is a lot of... More

This place is outstanding. Fresh baked bread and pastries and stocked refrig: orange juice, milk , half & half, excellent variety of breakfast foods for you to prepare at your leisure. Very comfortable and very clean. Everything here is first class. Fireplace with starter logs ready for use. Fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher. Owners live next door and are... More

Four of us stayed in the beautiful chalet in mid-June -- two adults and two kids, ages 12 and 13. The chalet was incredibly comfortable, clean, well-stocked, well layed out, and in a great location! The owner, Gail, supplied plenty of breakfast items and even accommodated our request for low-fat milk and nut-free products ;-) A nice surprise was having... More

A time I will never forget. Beautiful B&B, John & Gail are the most GRACIOUS HOST'S. Spent two nights in Girdwood, with my daughter-in-law & two Grandsons. Accommodations were EXCELLENT. Walking distance to restaurants & parks for the boys. John & Gail invited us to their beautiful home, where we watched the sunset and enjoyed a wonderful dinner. More

John and Gail are the perfect hosts, which is definitely reflected in their rental properties - clean, cozy, and picturesque, but not over the top. Other reviewers mentioned a home-like quality, as if you lived there - we know exactly how they feel. Not that you can be too far away from anything in Girdwood, but Timberline is just far... More

Stayed here for two nights on a two week tour of Alaska, felt very at home with the hosts. The suite is kinda like a private cabin, where Gail and John provide everything you need, but never make you feel as being in a B&B, your privacy is well respected. Am confident that it's the best alternative lodging option in... More

Staying with Gail, John and Koda was absolutely one of the best experiences I have ever had. My son and I stayed here while we fished the wonderful State of Alaska. As we sat on the "delayed" plane to return to Houston, my son said how he wished we were walking up the steps to our wonderful bedrooms at Timberline.... More

Gail and John are great hosts. Beautiful home, attentive service, a welcome feeling that you enjoy from the beginning to the end of your stay. Simply great! The only point to criticise may be the fact that the house is darkened by lots of outside trees that take the natural daylight in front of the windows away. More
