Restaurant. A little restaurant with great taste. Recommended for all ages and appetites. Homemade food, local ingredients and Alaskan beers on tap. Ambience is rustic and dress is hiker casual. Tie up your dog outside and rest a bit.

We can't find a better way to end a day of fishing the Russian then to stop in at Gwin's. Good eats (the food is served hot and the beer is served icy cold), friendly staff all in a relaxing atmosphere. The Gwin Burger is delicious but make it a double patty - Sinful! We will unequivocally be back year... More

The cabin we had (#1) was clean, quaint and cozy, even for 3 people...It could sleep 6, but that would be really tight. Minimal room amenities, but this property is primarily focused on people there for the fishing and it provides what is needed.

Stopped hear for dinner after a day of floating on the Kenai River. The food and service weary very good. Try the chili cheese fries. They are super and quite reasonable ( about $10.00). Also had the "Fruit of the Forest" pie which was very flavorful. Others in our party enjoyed the salmon chowder which they said was very good.... More

We stopped in for a quick dinner while staying in the Cooper Landing area. Gwin's is easy to find with plenty of parking off the main road. The atmosphere is rustic and well worn... but after all this place is a legend...and we were in Alaska. When we were at the restaurant the drinks were flowing and the place was... More

Nice cabin we stayed at- No TV or other distractions to deal with. You can go out and enjoy the wilderness. If you kids are hooked on electrical gadgets-stay away. The restaurant is great also. A person needs to take in the full experience in Gwinns.

Great place to stay, quaint little cottages. ( needs a little electrical updating ) very clean. Housekeeping staff awesome! Restaurant and food beyond fabulous. Great food, reasonable prices. John the cook outstanding!!! Rob in store terrific guy. Took a charter for salmon and caught nothing, resort refunded most of our money! You don't get that kind of service much anymore.... More

Gwin's lodge is a great place, as long as you don't expect a 5 star resort. You are in Alaska and you are fishing, don't expect silk linens and a butler changing your sheets while you are sleeping, that is not why you are in Alaska. What you can expect is an excellent customer service if you have any questions... More

My travel preferences in Alaska are different than anywhere else. I live here, and understand the challenges of providing creature comforts (running water, electricity, indoor plumbing, etc) in remote, beautiful areas. I go for the view and the experiences – fishing, horseback riding, photography, hiking, boating, etc. With family in town for a summer visit, we booked a fishing trip... More

Our family of 4 and grandma stayed in the one BR with loft cabin. Kids loved the loft and beds were comfortable (though not so much the pullout sleeper.). We rented waders and poles from the store and tried our luck on the Kenai and Russian Rivers. Friendly Staff was helpful in outfitting us and also worked to grant a... More
