We booked a full week at Aitutaki Lagoon based on a travel agent's recommendations. Upon first arrival we were impressed by the grounds, landscaping and incredible lagoon location. The bungalows appeared quite pretty from the outside, and the resort sits on its own motu, completely surrounded by swimming channels and beautiful lagoon waters. However, for the price we paid we... I have nothing but praise for the Lagoon Resort & Spa after a pretty average stay in Rarotonga at the sister resort we were so pleasantly suprised to take a short flight and find a pacific paradise. We never would have stayed so long (6 nights) at Rarotonga if we knew what was waiting for us. On arrival we immediately... More

We stayed in an overwater villa which had been a dream of mine for years. The location was stunning, quiet and well maintained. Our trip was slightly tainted because the airline (Air Rarotonga) lost my bag with all my critical travel documents on route but that wasn't the resorts fault and they tried (but failed) to help recover it. When... More

We spent a week at the Aitutaki Lagoon Resort and it was absolutely beautiful! It was a pure paradise. The resort is on its own island (or motu as they're called) and the Aitutaki Lagoon was spectacular. The resort had hammocks and sunbeds and the staff were mostly very friendly. The front desk staff weren't very helpful if you wanted... More

We have just returned from a 5 day stay at the Aitutaki Lagoon Resort. We did extensive research especially referring to Trip Advisor before booking, and were a bit nervous about what to expect for our considerable dollar spend. When we arrived we were overwhelmed with the natural beauty of the spot where the resort is located. The pure white... More

We just returned from our honeymoon on the Cooks where we spent one week at Aitutaki Lagoon Resort and one at Royale Takitumu (see separate review). We booked through South Seas travel who really put things together seamlessly for us in terms of the flights and transfers, and by my calculations, cost no more than if I had booked everything... While the location is second to none (it is paradise), the restaurants were very disappointing and definitely less than we were expecting from a hotel of this calibre. One night we ordered a bottle of rose which was well past it's recommended 'drink by' date. The boatshed just across the channel has much better food and is less expensive. Alcohol... More

Although the lagoon and the location were amazing we were disappointed at the service and the quality of the bungalows for the price. The bathrooms were very dated and the upgraded beach front bungalow which we thought we booked was not what we recieved. However we forgave that issue for the location and we were therefore more disappointed in the... More

This is truly the best place to stay on Aitutaki although it is actually on a Motu (a small island but still within the lagoon of Aitutaki). Because this small private island is still within the lagoon, all activities can be done right on the resort or from the beach or the overwater bungalows. We opted to stay in the... More

Really like Tripadvisor...I used it so only fair I write a review.. Saw a mix of reviews about this hotel. We stayed in on Overwater Bungalow for our Honeymoon. Beautiful. Expensive..Yes.. But its a Honeymoon. You could jump right into the water and feed the multitude of fishes right from the step. Basically this hotel is on the other side... More
