I stayed at Chez Guynette for 4 weeks and during this time had a pleasant and comfortable stay. If you are on a budget it is the only place to stay while on the Island of Huahine. I stayed at the hostel for the price, location and reputation. I was never disappointed. The central location on the main street across... More

The dorm is OK, but it is on the way for everyone to the kitchen, so meanwhile you are sleeping people are passing by through the room to prepare breakfast. Also, the room is totally open so mosquitoes are free to enter. And the cats in the garden are quite annoying and wild. They'll jump into your bed while you... More

Chez Guynette was our first stop on an 3.5 week adventure in French Polynesia. We did not plan accommodations so when we arrived at the airport and were introduced to owner (I forget her name now) we were so pleased she spoke enough English to communicate with us and she accepted us into her pension. The room was nice and... More

Most people who complain about the price of pensions have only traveled 1-2 weeks in French Polynesia and cannot completely see/compare the cost of doing business in this area of the world. Pension Guynette is truly the pension with the best cost we have found in our travels so far. They are friendly and available when you have requests and... More

My son and I had a small family room with a tiny bathroom. We were there for two nights during the "off season," so there were just another family and a single guy sleeping in the dormitory at the end of the hall. There's a full kitchen, but we didn't use it much except for a few simple things. The... More

This place is great, not because of the structure itself, but for the atmosphere, quiet, relaxed and authentic, sitting in front of the pier with a cool beer we forget the passing of time, we have been here at havaiki nui race, even though it was full of locals who did not really want to sleep, the experience was wonderful,... We have just made our 3rd visit to Chez Guynette and this time we stayed 5 weeks! The reason being that we find Huahine the most authentic of the islands. Moorea and Bora are more scenic but what sets Huahine apart is the people who are friendly and welcoming. Anyway we prefer to stay in one place and soak up... More

We spent a week at Chez Guynette and I could have easily stayed longer. If you want a slow pace in a small village close to shops and beach this is it. If you want glitz and nightlife then maybe somewhere else would suit you better. Fellow guests and our Hostess ,Laurence, helped make the week even more enjoyable. Roulettes... More

We spent one night at Chez Guynette after arriving on the Hawaiki Nui approx midnight. The double ensuite with double bunk was large, clean and comfortable. The bathroom (hot shower) is separated by a brick wall and curtain over the entrance. There are cooking facilities out back and a small restaurant out front, however we did not use either. The dorm...
