Our Windstar cruise ship was docked .5 miles up the road overnight, and in the morning, we took an easy walk to this hotel. We returned to the ship and asked where to find good "poisson cru" (very fresh fish marinated in citrus, coconut milk, and mixed with cucumber, tomato and sweet onion). Many staff recommended this restaurant at Hawaiki... More

If you are looking for a friendly laid back hotel with reasonable over the water bungalows, look no further. However, if you come expecting the Ritz you will be disappointed. We just spend 2 nights in a premium over the water bungalow. It was lovely and we spent the majority of our time on our wonderful deck. Others have mentioned... More

This hotel is lovely. The best part of it was the view from the hut over the water, we kept the sliders open 24/7 and woke every morning to a beautiful sunrise looking out over the motu. There is a deck off the room with seating to enjoy your morning coffee and you can jump right off the deck into... More

My husband and I stayed at the Hawaiki Nui Hotel as part of our 3 week tour of French Polynesia in December of 2013. The hotel it self was more than suitable for our needs but we felt the whole place was just a little dated. Kind of the hotel that time forgot. With that being said, the rooms were... More

This place has many pros: it is a small property with a genuine touch of Polynesia. The entire staff is smiling and friendly. The restaurant is almost incredible considering the size of the hotel. Also tit is close to the airport and w/in walking distance from the town. Even if the snorkeling is not at par with other primary locations,... More

We prefer to stay at small boutique inns or B&Bs that have unique features and locations...we don't need perfect rooms, we want ambiance, a good bed, and great location. The Hawaiki fit our needs almost perfectly. The staff are happy and helpful and clearly enjoy working there, which makes it much more fun for the guests. In fact, locals were... More

This is a small hotel and perfect for two nights before a sailing charter. As seen in the pictures, this hotel is older and the rooms are not fancy but the price is modest when compared to any luxury hotel who share the same beautiful view of water and mountains. We wanted the experience of a bungalow over water, and... More

We are so happy when you feel happy with us ! Thank's for let us know ! We are really proud of our old little hotel and we love to share this feeling with our guests. Did we told you that our overwater bungalows were the FIRST one in the world ? Of course, those last 40 years, the concept... More

Wow what a great hotel. The staff were absolutely amazing and could not be more helpful, they went out of there way to make us feel comfortable and arranged all our tours. Diving of the end of the jetty on the Nordby wreck could not have easier. The Friday night Polynesia show was a blast, it certainly is the place... More

We stayed here for 2 nights after a charter week. Got to the hotel still wearing the flower crown and lei I had received the night before at the Polynesian Show Friday evening. Reserve your table early since there is no stage and you'll want to be up close. Get up and dance like there's no one watching. We were... More

This was a small hotel we used before and after a sailing charter. The staff were extremely nice and helpful- and friendly! The rooms were by no means fancy, but clean and nice. The restaurant was one of the few open on Sundays- but good food, service and reasonable prices (for French Polynesia....). Local ex-pats and Polynesians were also restaurant... More
