I have stayed here twice before, in 2007 the last time. First, I was here alone, it was great, had a simple room, made friends, enjoyed swimming in the water. The second time, I came here with my gf, our room wasn't that comfortable, had thick walls and it was quite uncomfortable for us. And also, the price of the... More

My husband, daughter and I camped here last week for 8 nights. It was wonderful. The owner showed us around, was always kind and helpful. Location is wonderful and we will remember the beautiful sunsets every night. Good snorkelling right on the beach and easy access to shops and eateries. The shared showers and toilets were always clean and so... More

Sometimes you have to trust your inital "gut" feel as we parked at Camping Nelson. This was not for us! The cabin we had was "average" to say it mildly. Very small, no fan or air con. People hanging out in front of the cabin drinking beer and smoking got knows what...(with all the respect not my cup of tea).... More

Well, what more to say than location! After successful hitching to Camping Nelson (free trip around half the island) we immediately jumped into the lagoon, after all it is literally 5m from the accommodation. white sand beach narrow, but very nice, walk along sandy beach, wont spend much time in accomm. anyway, just swimming and snorkelling all day. Whale snorkelling... More

I disagree with the comments below, in my opinion the kitched wasn't so dirty. The place is very cheap (only 15 euros per night! unbelievable for French Polynesia, probably the cheapest place in the country), the location is great, fresh and beautiful; there is a supermarket very close. The toilets are pretty clean; the only thing I might complain is... More

We were grateful to find a cheap place to stay in such a beautiful location, but we were surprised at the poor hygiene in the communal kitchen. Cats have free rein of the place, and it doesn't smell very good. The communal toilets/showers were clean, however.

The camping is in the beach, so the location is good, but this is the only thing that is good. The owner is a very disgusting woman, always seems angry. The rooms ara very poor equiped: a very old bed, two plastic chairs and a litlle shelf. The amenities, room and kitchen are sooooo dirty!!!! It's impossible to cook anything... More

The owner (Josiane) is the most antipathetic women I have ever seen in our 10 months trip. She really don't care about you just your money. I know Polynesia is expensive but for the price we payed for a bungalow, it's incredible. You have only 4 walls of plywood without charm, a shared bathroom that is washed (every month?) and... More

Tahiti is a mighty expensive place, so i could only stay in backpackers on Moorea. They are not easy to find. I would recommend booking your first night in advance. Well the Fare hut is , of course , quite spartan, problems with mosquitos and insects at night. Simple bed and facilities , but in a beautiful Tahitian style Fare... More

The location is amazing, right by the beach and an aquamarine lagoon. The camping area is a little rough without much shade, but is literally metres from the beach. The kitchen was pretty filthy but the basic showers and toilets were ok. Expensive for camping but a cheap option for French Polynesia.
