I stayed two weeks in pension Te Miti in Punauia Tahiti.Pension is basic, but clean and with good atmosphere.Owners are friendly and breakfast was ok.No free Wi-Fe.Papehue beach is some 400 m.away.Beach is white sended but spread with black vulcanic stones wich spoils the image and confort. There is one small supermarket and three restaurants around. One is classic, and other two are improvised-servis... Te Miti, means the sea and although the pension is not right on the beach, it is within easy walking distance from the beach, which by the way closes at dusk. The rooms are comfortable and clean. There are two bathrooms, one indoor, one outdoor as well as an outside kitchen to do your own cooking. A couple of grocery... More

Upon arrival in the middle of the night, we were accomodated in the 4 man dorm instead of a doubleroom. In the dorm the beds were not comfortable and the room was very small. The next day we were moved to a house fully equipped and with a small garden we were sharing with another guest in two separate doublerooms.... More

The hosts Fred and Christelle really make you feel welcome. The houses are basic but have everything you need. The breakfast's were a real highlight and the perfect place to meet other travellers to go on an adventure.

Really friendly and helpful owners, great breakfast, bit expensive The owners, Fred and his wife, are incredibly friendly, hospitable and helpful. They can give you lots of information about the area, how to get into town, what to do/see etc etc. They serve a decent breakfast in the mornings and keep the grounds reasonably clean. As a backpacker place this... More

Quiet and clean accomodation, however, be adviced; 4 bed dorm is next to the kitchen and not quiet by 12-1:00a.m. There is no wifi service, but If you are interesting for internet access, it cost hourly 10 $ and you can use your computer for it and 1 $ for 1 short local call to make from the office. When flying from the opposite side of the earth, literally in my case, to another country that is akin to a speck of dust in the deep South Pacific, there is one sure fire phrase that will make your bottom pucker up and make you wish you had astonishingly capacious undergarments and a bed in the nearest hospital cardiac unit;... Pension Te Miti was one of the best places I stayed during my 2 + month back packing trip through French Polynesia. The 4 bed dorm may be a little cramped and the bunks a little wobbly when full but very sociable - as opposed to the somewhat loneliness felt when I stayed in their other building down the road....
