This isn't a B&B - it's a money-making venture with the least possible effort in creating a comfortable B&B experience. There was really no breakfast to speak of - dry muffins with a little dish of frozen, soggy berries. We passed on that. The water we were told had dirt in it, so we were provided with water in a... If you're looking for a Hilton, keep on driving...about another 1200 miles. The Chitina House B & B is a restored railroad bunk house for railroad workers. The B & B owner Karla and her husband have done an incredible job of restoring the property. The B & B is a very clean three bedroom, one bath, large common family... More

Chitina House is a lovely historic place. We stayed one night on our way to McCarthy and wish would would have stayed on our way out of McCarthy too! Carla is friendly and knows a lot about the history of the area. The breakfast of fresh muffins, fresh fruit, and cereal was very good! Our room was spacious, very clean,... More

We loved our time at the Chitina House Bed and Breakfast. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. They were bright and updated. The breakfast room was available to use at any time, and the owner was incredibly knowledgeable about the area (good recommendations for driving into the park), baked us muffins for breakfast, and was very friendly. The house... More

I have stayed at many B&Bs across the US. This B&B fared as one of the best I have stayed at. Immculately clean, charming, and a fantastic renovation. This town is very remote and these accomadations outshine everything in the area. The owner Carla is very friendly and even made me cupcakes for my birthday! Breakfast is simple but ample.... More

much better in area, 'breakfast' is cold cereal and maybe a muffin. not pet friendly, beds are far from comfortable. Renovation is very well done, a lot of time and money for end result. Considering being very pricey, we expected a better end impression. There are several more B&Bs, cabins, etc. in area, though difficult to find on internet.

We have stayed in a many B&B's so far in our lengthy 3 month driving trip through BC, the Yukon Territory, and Alaska. I would rank the Chitina House B&B as a tie for first place among the many places that we have stayed at. The place and especially Karla, the owner, are both wonderful. If you need luxurious accommodations,... More

What a wonderful surprise to find this renovated old railroad bunkhouse from the days the train used to travel back and forth from the Kennicott Mine. You can never be too sure what kind of lodging you'll find in these tiny old Alaskan towns, but this place was more than a relief. The website shows pictures of the outside, which... More
