Everything people have said is correct. A tired looking hotel. Big gap under the door. No peep hole in the door. Needs new paint, carpeting, bedding. No Kleenex tissues so provide your own. Bethel has a prohibition on alcohol. In spite of that, two out of the four nights there were disrupted with people who were drunk, yelling and fighting.... More

I've done plenty of travelling in bush Alaska, and this hotel is as good as you are going to get. I talked to many of the locals in the town about other hotels, and they all agreed on one thing, The Long House is the best in Bethel. On a previous business trip I stayed at another hotel in town,... More

Unfortunately for myself, I was forced to stay at this property due to lack of Loging in town. From a very outdated lobby, piles of garbage behind the front desk I was appalled upon my arrival. The teenage front desk clerk was unhelpful, rude, and way too busy surfing the Internet to help in anyway possible. Horrible burns in the... More

I was surprised at this hotel, The front desk was manned by teenagers all day and night, the first few days housekeeping was handled by a couple young guys. They were trying to do the job but I doubt they had extensive training in the art of housekeeping. Their complimentary breakfast consisted of a selection of 3 different types of... More

Not any accessible rooms or bathrooms. I got a strange look from the front desk teenager when I asked about ramps or elevator. Rooms are up or down 8-9 steps. Apparently this is the best place in town. I wonder if the local Fire Marshall would let any of his disabled family stay here?

Put all of your expectations for a clean, dust free room, and clean linen aside. My first room smelled of smoke and dust so the front desk graciously moved me to another room. This room didn't smell of smoke but was very dusty. There was so much space around the door that I placed a towel at the bottom and... More

When you come to Bethel you need to curb your expectations. Bottom line, this hotel would not be something people paid over $200 to stay in anywhere else in the US. But since this is Bethel and communal bathrooms are the norm, this is your spot if you want privacy. My room on the 3rd floor was not a beacon... More

In Bethel you have to weigh the options, do you want your own bathroom or are you willing to share. If you want your own, then the Long House is (as I understand) your only option. We checked in at night and my room was very dirty. If I were in the lower 48, I would have complained to management... More

Anyone who lives in Alaska knows, things are different when you go rural. Life in the hub communities is quite different from what you encounter in Anchorage, or Fairbanks. Frankly, I was not expecting much when I arrived in Bethel, having been accustomed to leaving a certain amount of what 48'ers would call "civilization" behind. What I encountered was far... More

My 1st was freezing cold so they moved and that room was hot but I was able to open a window. The room wasn't very clean, my bed sheets had what looked liked blood stains on them and there was black hair every where in my room, from the bathroom to my bed. Yuck curtains were broke. Oh and the... More
