When you come to Bethel you need to curb your expectations. Bottom line, this hotel would not be something people paid over $200 to stay in anywhere else in the US. But since this is Bethel and communal bathrooms are the norm, this is your spot if you want privacy. My room on the 3rd floor was not a beacon... More

In Bethel you have to weigh the options, do you want your own bathroom or are you willing to share. If you want your own, then the Long House is (as I understand) your only option. We checked in at night and my room was very dirty. If I were in the lower 48, I would have complained to management... More

Anyone who lives in Alaska knows, things are different when you go rural. Life in the hub communities is quite different from what you encounter in Anchorage, or Fairbanks. Frankly, I was not expecting much when I arrived in Bethel, having been accustomed to leaving a certain amount of what 48'ers would call "civilization" behind. What I encountered was far... More

I stayed here for teaching conferences while in Bethel and have to say this is the best place I have seen in town. It was in 2004, so I don't know how it is now but the staff was nice, the rooms were clean and everything worked. That is far better than any other place there.

My 1st was freezing cold so they moved and that room was hot but I was able to open a window. The room wasn't very clean, my bed sheets had what looked liked blood stains on them and there was black hair every where in my room, from the bathroom to my bed. Yuck curtains were broke. Oh and the... More

Considering the location this is the best Bethel has to offer. Our room was clean, and we had a shower, working TV and internet. If you are looking for luxury, Bethel is NOT the palce to be. The staff were friendly, and there were people cleaning, but the mud and dust are so pervasive that it's a losing battle. That... More

This is my second visit to Bethel in three years and unfortunately I didn't stay at the Long House the first time. We (group of ten) were in town for business and found the rooms to be clean and yes the internet was constantly dropping my computer or unaccessable some times. But compared to the last hotel this by far... More

While on a business trip to Bethel, I stayed at the Long House Bethel Hotel. It was located on 3rd Avenue, across the street from one of the few gas stations in town and next door to Sammy's Market. The town is very small, and you can take a cab anywhere in town for $5 or go to the airport... More

Not Recommended... First day - Had hotel staff charge into my room with no warning while I was changing my clothes. She then asked my to tape an ugly sign above my bed warning about their smoking and alcohol policy. First night- The hotel holds a dance party in its conference room every Friday and Saturday night. Plenty of noise... More

My name is Kara Dyble and I became the new General Manager of the Long House Bethel Hotel on July 1, 2009. Having served as the Assistant Manager since arriving in Bethel in October 2007, I am well aware of the past issues and poor customer service experienced by our guests. As I am now in the role of General... More

This use to be the best place to stay in Bethel, clean, internet access, knowledgeable staff. In the past the only problem was that the rooms were hot! In my most recent stays (July and September) the hotel has become run down, often the beds are dirty upon checking in, the wireless internet does not work, and t.v.'s often do... More
