We stayed here for 1 night. Our room was on the top floor overlooking a cemetery. There are no elevators but the staff helped get our luggage in the room. They have a no shoes policy which we found reasonable given the road condition and amount of snow in Barrow. They are probably doing this just to keep their property... More

Top Hotel in Barrow. It is my cousins favorite place to have have a winter vacation and he has stayed at the King Eider many times!. When bumped off some Alaska flights, I felt blessed to get a room for the night. The room was large with beautiful pine decor. The manager and his wife were so very helpful and... More

It is comfortable, pricey, and you cant wear your shoes. But its warm, the owner is nice, and it is close to the airport. Book ahead, believe it or not , it is hard to find a room in Barrow and this is one of the few places you can stay

The King Eider hotel is the perfect place to stay in Barrow. You literally get off the plane, walk through the tiny airport, cross the stree and walk into the lobby. The hotel is very modern and comfortable and the people are so nice and helpful. You can walk to anywhere in the town in 10-15 minutes. The convenience is... More

It's easy to forget that you are staying north of the Arctic Circle when at the King Eider Inn in Barrow Alaska, the service and accommodation easily rivals many Hotels in far less remote areas of the state. Firstly, the King Eider is across the road from Barrow Airport, easy to walk to and see from the main entrance of... More

we loved the King Eider Inn in the fantastic town of Barrow...No shoes allowed in the Inn because of the snow and few paved roads. We want to go back one day and have Mike as our tour guide to again see the polar bears and whale cooking!

Just had a wonderful 3 day, 2 night stay in Barrow staying at the King Eider Inn. The couple at the hotel did everything they could to ensure our stay met our expectations. The proximity to the airport (literally across the street) and walk to the water (10-15 minutes at best) and local restaurant(s) made it a good central point... More

Stayed one night in Barrow in early June. The couple running the hotel were awesome , they were filling in for friends. They made sure we had everything we needed and gave good advice on sights as well as restaurants. The hotel itself was very clean and warm. Rooms were large. Will be back next year and will be sure... More

I'd been interested in seeing what Barrow was like ever since seeing it as a dot on a map as a child. Having recently had the chance to visit, I chose the King Eider Inn due to its proximity to the Alaska Airlines terminal - just in case the weather was bad! I booked the hotel by email, as it... Good value for the off-season rate in such a remote location. Warm, clean, comfortable and quiet room, spacious enough for two persons. Bathroom had all the standard facilities, without the quirks of some out of the way accommodations. Free internet in the room, with coffee and tea in the lounge along with a gas fireplace and a desktop for guest... More
