This place is in the process of being sold and you can tell that no one has really cared about it for a while. We met the owner and unfortunately he has suffered a series of bereavements recently so is moving on. I am glad we stayed. We are not fussy people but I think if you did you would... More

We stayed in a worn cabana right on the sea. The view was astounding and the room was large. Amazing Caribbean food included in the price, with a lot of fresh fish and shellfish. Overall, I would have given it a 4, but for the following: on arrival, we reported the fact that the floor of the cabana was really... More

My husband and I stayed at Reef's End Lodge for the second time in March 2014. Our first trip in April 2012 was wonderful and we loved it. That's why we booked for 10 nights in 2014. However, we found conditions much changed. On our arrival, the dive master appeared to also be the manager. Rooms were Spartan with beds... More

We stayed here for three nights during Spring Break. A friend had recommended Reefs End to us but we will not be recommending it to our friends. We booked this location for the ideal SCUBA opportunities and shared with all of the staff our excitement to get out onto the reef. Unfortunately, we sat the entire first day and until... More

It's not what most Americans would expect in a "hotel" (yes, the air quotes are necessary); we LOVED it. Just make sure that you have all of your details and charges and fine print all worked out before you go.

Tobacco Caye isn't for everybody, but I love it. The bargain idyllic Belizean caye involves tradeoffs: there's little to do except chill and enjoy the ocean; you won't see mosquitoes but you might spot a bug because rooms aren't saturated with toxic pesticides. Don't visit if you require wild nightlife, TV, marble bathrooms or air conditioning. Go to experience Belizean... More

Tobacco Caye in general is a one-of-a-kind kind of place. There is literally nothing to do except enjoy the sand, water and sun, or snorkel off-shore. This is nice for a change of pace when you've been going going and going, but I did get bored after 2 days...good thing that's as long as we wound up staying. My boyfriend... More

Although we did not stay on Tobacco Caye as we were sailing on a chartered boat, we spent a lovely morning exploring the caye and enjoying the beachfront bar. An island paradise is the best way to describe Tobacco Caye. If you want to be completely immersed in Belizian life, this is the place for you. Not an inclusive resort... More

My favourite place to stay in Belize, our cabana sat right on the beach overlooking crystal clear water - we spent many hours watching so many birds from our verandah and reading in the hammock, then just walk a few steps to the beach and take off snorkeling around the reef. SWOON! Amazing hospitality and great service and good eats... More

Tobacco Caye is pure paradise. But make sure you stay at Reef's End if you want the best of the tiny island. We are experienced travelers, journalist/photographer and believe us when we say that Reef's End is the most beautiful place to be. It IS the place to be! Henry, the new manager is absolutely friendly and forthcoming. He will... More
