Our first visit to Lana's was amazing - when Kit was the cook and caretaker - great meals - everything was spotless - rustic but spotless - met Lana and her husband - wonderful people I have heard Lana is selling - most unfortunate. Unfortunately our next visit was not good - young couple with young toddler - everything dirty... More

Was originally going to stay for one night but ended up staying for five. It may not be as stunning as other places on the island, but the family feel was amazing. Julie and Alice cooked us delicious food (whatever we caught fishing or lobster diving we were cooked for supper) and we were extremely looked after. I feel like... More

Let me State first that Tobacco Caye is a gem and i would advice everybody to go here. However, stay only at Lanas when you have to (like we had to). - room was old, scruffy, dusty and hot - Probably from the 70s and never changed - Walls are paperthin - "lucky" us, our neighbour was a snorrer -... Lana's On The Reef was recently closed, as Lana has retired. After many successful years running this laid-back coral beach hotel, Lana - well into her 80s now - is retiring. Her cooking was legendary, and this Caribbean gem was well-known by the Hollywood in-crowd, Euro Back-packers, and Island Adventurers alike - who all came here for quiet R&R in... More

Had reserved 2 rooms originally, told only one was available and 4 us would have to share. Eventually rooms were found after insisting. Rooms were dingy and dirty. Toilet in room seperated by just a curtain. Sink and most other parts had not been cleaned for months. At least sheets were clean. We paid $US35 per person, but original price... More

look out for something else. small island but definitely there are choices. when arriving take it easy and dont depend on boat people. go aound and see all the cabanas and negotiate. the rooms are small and have nothing than a bed in it. It is not worth the price!

The room is very poorly furnished (bed only) and small, the bathroom also. There are better options for the same price! The value of the stay does not match the service provided. The male owner is nice, the female is pretty moody.

Caye Caulker not chilled out enough for you? Best check out Tobacco Caye then, this place is a gem! The island is tiny and there are hardly more than a dozen buildings on the whole thing, and it is right on the reef. What a great place to kick back and forget about any sort of responsibility for a few... More

Tabacco Caye is a beautiful paradise like island in the middle of the Caribbean sea with five small hotel perched around its edges. All of them except for Lanas (and Reef's End) offer little beach cabins. We had initially reserved Lanas based on the good reviews we read but when we saw the room were very disappointed. It was actually... More

we stayed there over christmas for 4 nights, it was a great experience. rooms were basic but good. we enjoyed hanging out on the pier in front on lanas, watching huge stingrays and eagle rays floating by all the time and we spotted even dolphins on our last day. ask a.c. to take you for a snorkelling trip or see...
