Only a few steps from a busy street lies a quiet sanctuary to relax after a day's travel. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch and our room was spacious and comfortable. The B&B is in close proximity to some excellent restaurants. Our hosts recommended an excellent Argentinean restaurant which was within walking distance. We did not rent a vehicle... More

My husband and I stayed at Casa de las Tias at the beginning of our recent Costa Rica trip. Our room was large, spotless and very comfortable. The entire B&B is cozy and wonderfully decorated. The owners, Pilar and Xavier are warm and welcoming. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Fresh fruit and homemade rolls and bread were a great addition.... More

We stayed in the lovely room with a balcony towards the front garden. Warm hostess with an eye for details. Very accommodating and helpful. Best breakfast we had during our two weeks in costa rica. Would definitely stay here again

My Mother and I stayed here an 2 different nights at the middle and end of our trip and what a treat! You can't believe that this home is tucked away at the end of the lane. This was the perfect place for a respite and recovery in between the Arenal and Tortuguero legs of our trip and final night... More

Outstanding hospitality and consideration, from the reservation to check-out. Sent three email requests to hotel to book, as owner's replies were filtered out by Earthlink as spam, before switching to another email account. Owner Xavier arranged for a car to pick me up at the airport and met me at 6:30 AM at the front door, before having the maid... More

If someone dropped you here and you awoke you would think you were on a Plantation. You would envision acres of coffee plantations just out side the gate....BUT you are right in the midst of the city and close to everything. Quiet and gorgeous surroundings. My only complaint is that the beds could be softer. The furnishings are exquisite and... More

Very personable hospitality by the owners of this charming B & B. All my needs were enthusiastically met. Nice gardens & convenient location close to a bank and restaurants. Cab to the airport arranged for me.

We just had one short night in this beautiful house. I wish we could have spent more time there and enjoy the breakfast on the terrace! Pilar and Xavier are really nice people, the room was clean and cosy and the location is perfect (very close to the airport but yet far enough from San Jose). Wonderful experience, highly recommended... More

We had a wonderful stay our first and last nights in Costa Rica. The property is very beautifully maintained with huge mango trees, tropical vegetation and hummingbirds feeding on the flowers. The owners were very attentive to our requests and breakfast was delicious. I will make this a regular stop anytime I'm passing through San Jose.

Our first time in Costa Rica, this was a good choice coming from the airport after dark. The driver and cab promised us didn't show so we took a taxi after a wait. { Finding the place confounded all taxi drivers but could be done especially with cell phone directions.} The splendid old house was quiet and comfortable, with the feeling...
