The place is like a little old time place. beautiful and decorated by Pilar and Xavier in an old stile we all miss now. No words to tell how wonderful and nice are Pilar and Xavier that make feel at home from the first moment you get into their home. when I say a home is because that is the... More

Hard to find and easy to enjoy, Casa de las Tias is a peaceful haven tucked into a back-eddy of urban hustle. Its classic design and surrounding greenery welcome you to a quieter place and a slower pace: fruit hangs on the trees and butterflies tend the garden. With good plumbing and great showers, who needs a swimming pool? With... More

Casa de las Tias is a small B+B in Escaszu, San Jose Costa Rica. Set in a Cape Cod home, (yes a lovely Cape Cod look alike), the house boasts spacious gardens, with unique bedrooms, ranging from King sized to double size beds, each with ensuite. Our room was on the second floor. with a double bed, but with a... More

Casa de las Tias is a beautiful historica home 1.5 blocks off the Main Street in Escazu. Amazingly it is very peaceful and quiet here. The home is lovingly cared for and has manicured gardens with many birds. Xavier and Pilar are kind, helpful people who go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. And breakfast is delicious!!... I stayed one night at Casa de la Tias on my return journey through San Jose --- I wish I could have stayed for longer! This is by far one of the most pleasant places that I stayed at in Costa Rica and to have such a peaceful place in San Jose is a real find! In addition to this,... More

We had a wonderful experience of San Jose because we stayed at Casa de las Tias. The care from Xavier, Pilar and Ank (and their drivers) was exceptional and made for a warm, personal, relaxed, and delightful experience. The threel speak excellent English and are well-educated and very knowledgeable about history and society and culture. We spent time with each... More

Xavier and Pilar have created a piece of tranquility in a bustling city and they are the ultimate hosts. Every part of this beautiful house has some thing interesting to look at or read. Enjoy breakfast in the garden which is a haven for hummingbirds whilst being only a short drive from the centre of town. We loved this perfect... More

Xavier was the fortunate one who had the pleasure of hosting you both, and it was Pilar's loss, of course. But we hope this will not be your last visit to Costa Rica, so Pilar and I look forward to that time. Very many thanks for your kind words. Cheers to your family, too! More

Thank you for your wonderful words. I am glad you enjoyed our Chile room. It is indeed comfortable for guests who wish to avoid stairs, but also it is the coolest room in the house and happens to have a lovely banana tree right by the window! Please, come back soon, even if no condo is to be sold! A... More

Casa de la Tias is a wonderful place to stay. Xavier, its owner, could not have been more welcome and gracious. When I first arrived, I asked him where there was a place to exchange dollars for colones, and he actually offered to lend me money if I needed it. The bank was just down the street, as was a...
