Lovely rooms, really nice and reasonably priced breakfast, great airport stop over if you need to stay in San Jose, we used it when we arrived and before we left. Only downside was the noise from the trains however we only noticed it on one side of the hotel, so I think we were unlucky.

Stayed at Casa 69 for a month while attending University. Conveniently located near museums, markets, parks, and theatre. Friendly staff and clean. Owner has a heart for rescues, so in main house there are some kitties and dogs that live there, so if you don't like animals, stay in rooms across the street (which are really nice). Drawbacks are it... More

I loved the local flair and the staff is very friendly. The rooms are comfortable, however with two busy bars on the corner, lots of traffic and a nearby train which blows it's horn incessantly, sleep does not come easily. I would make a different choice next time.

Spent one night here so that we could see some of San Jose before going on to Quepos. Found it to be have a certain charm, as most guesthouses do. Staff were quite helpful, directed us to downtown, etc. Ate dinner at the pub just down the street, very good food and beer. The rooftop view was lovely, saw the... More

I stayed at Casa 69 while in San Jose for 10 days for dental work, the owner was lovely and very accommodating and friendly. The staff are also excellent, I literally was laid up in bed for a couple days recovering after surgery and they even blended my banana's with the ensure powder I brought since I couldn't eat for... As usual the best for the money, unrivaled in its category. The owner and staff are always kind and helpful. The rooms are really clean with thousands of coloured pillows tuned by colors with the simple but pleasant decorations.a nice taste. The inner gardens keeps in your mind you're in the tropics, with furry cats playing tigers.. It s a very... More

My family (2 adults and 2 children aged 7 and 8) spent three nights at Casa 69. The location is great, just a 10 minute walk downtown to the museums Theatro Nacional and the pedetrianised shopping area. Our room was clean and spacious with a fridge and safe. Breakfast was included in our booking, this was a very basic meal... More

We stayed two nights on our arrival to San Jose, had two rooms in the courtyard at the back. Rooms ok, no ac bit dated and not the cleanest in nooks and crannies. Bathroom fine and got toiletries. Breakfast is only fruit and bread, jams, tea, coffee and juice, although tea did take ages too come. Had two nights of... More

I recently spent four nights at Casa 69 in San Jose Costa Rica. Whilst the location was convenient, the internet was very sporadic with frequent brown outs, breakfast was very minimal just tropical fruit, bread, juice and coffee, and very noisy on the weekend. Alma, Lola and Enrique were friendly and tried their best to take care of the internet... More

I had dealings with Donna whom I believe is the owner. Based on every other review that is not glowing Donna will justify her actions. It’s interesting on how some folks can have great experiences and others are ripped off or mislead My review is based on a per-booked and paid room done in advance with the understanding that someone...
