The head maid there was super lazy and rude. She was on her phone most of the day and didn't clean the place very well. A lot of the problems travelers face with place comes from the cleanliness. Why can't they hire someone who cleans the place better? She also would complain about customers to the other staff, not realizing... More

I just got back from a month long tour of Costa Rica during which I stayed at a string of hostels across the country. Casa Yoses was by far the most accommodating, affordable, fun and cleanly. The Staff was helpful and always available, which I didn't experience at most other hostels. Ale helped me schedule my tours, transportation and future... More

We have been travelling around the whole country, and visited many hostels, cheap places. Casa Yostes Hostel is the worst ever. Cleaning doesn't exist here; rooms are plenty of dust and dirt on the floors, toilet full of cotton, paper, and many things everywhere. The best? BUGS in the bed, hairs in the bed linen. People doesn't respect the silence... More

I came through San Jose to casa yoses first, then to several other places but by far, this place was the most fun filled hostel with great people, amenities, and location. It's a totally cool place to relax and/or party, lots of diversity and really nice staff, especially the front desk girls, who helped me find the best places to... More

Casa Yoses is the only hostel I know of in the San Jose area that has "long term" rooms. For $300 a month I stayed in one of their long term rooms above the bar/restaurant La Sospecha, which is right across the courtyard. Before I moved in there I had stayed in one of their dorms several times. However, I... More

This hostel was great that they provided an airport shuttle and free breakfast but it was pretty dirty. Two of the three bathrooms on one side of the hostel were out of order so 4 rooms had to share one bathroom. I never got to try the breakfast because I left early bother morning for a tour. It's pretty loud... More

At one time this hostel was nice and well taken care of. But at my last stay the place seemed to be run down and neglected. They have incorporated a bar within the hostel which is a draw for guests outside of the hostel. But for the price charged, the amenities were really bare.
