My wife and I stayed at KAP's Place at the beginning and end of our honeymoon trip to Costa Rica (August 20-22 & 30, 2007). We flew into San José and wanted a reasonably priced place to stay close to downtown San José for two nights. What a wonderful place to stay! I would definitely recommend staying at KAP's Place... This place is so cute and homey. A friend and I stayed our first and last nights in Costa Rica and it was our favorite place by far. The staff was extremely helpful in booking busses, taxis, etc... And very friendly! I highly recommend this hotel. I wish we had stayed longer in San Jose simply to take more advantage... More

Two friends and I picked Kap's Place randomly from a guidebook, and we were pleasantly surprised. We had a triple room with a shared bathroom, which only cost us fifteen dollars a person. The room was super cute, had two single beds and one double bed and lots of light. Everything (even the shared bathroom) was clean. The room also... More

You probably won't be staying for long in San Jose, and this is not a bad place to stay for not very long. It's very cute and colorful, and the free Internet with PCs located around the hotel is great. The breakfast was fine - simple and tasty. But do stay in one of the cheaper rooms. We stayed in... Please know rooms at Kaps Place are all different one to another -- we list a full description on our site and we give the pros and cons of each room (which justifies its rate) at check in. Our prices include 16.39% of taxes and guests are offered free internet and free breakfast. Our rates have remained the same for... More

We found Kaps Place to be great. We stayed at the beginning and end of our trip. The rooms were clean, although ours was small as was the bathroom it still was very homey. We really appreciated the unlimited internet access which became very important to us when we had an emergency at home that we had to deal with.... More

I enjoyed my stay at kaps. It was cozy and has a different feel from most hotels. If you are looking for the four seasons, this is not the place for you... I am not saying that the accomodations are not first class, they are. Some rooms have there own bathroom, some dont. For some you may need to go... More

My favorite place to stay in San Jose. Here's why: *cozy, colorful, immaculately kept rooms -- each individually decorated with great attention to detail *knowledgeable, friendly staff -- able to arrange tours & provide travel advice *full kitchen available to guests *wide selection of (free & unlimited!) teas *big trampoline outside, plus sandbox & playroom for kids *hammocks *comfortable living... Kap's place is a truly unique find in San Jose. The staff is helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. They provide a plethora of services and go out of their way to accomodate your needs. They help you plan everything from a massage to a canopy tour through the jungle. (I've even seen doctors visiting the hotel to care for post-surgery patients.)... More

Kap's Place is functional, but very spartan and funky. We had to go through someone else's room to get to ours! One shared bath among four larger rooms. Staff are friendly.

At the time of the review there was one "hostel" type room which was a walk through room. The label has remained as "hostel" however the rooms are completely private and it is only 3 rooms that share one bathroom. Our hotel has private apartments, family suites with jacuzzi, rooms with private bathrooms and all rooms are different -- thus,... More

KAP's Place was one of the best places I have ever stayed. At a very modest price, they offer clean, well-appointed rooms, some with private bath, some with shared bath. However, as delightful as the facilities are, what makes this hotel so very special are the people who work there. They are consistently cheerful, friendly, and will do just about... More
