This isn't a hotel I would have chosen, however, it was part of a package so had no choice. When new it must have been a very nice property . . looking a bit tired now. Staff tried hard to please & were well mannered at all times. Everything else was distinctly average. The rooms were large but could do... More

Stayed here at the start and finish of a grouptour throught Central America. Many tourgroups seem to use this hotel. Poolarea is very nice and well kept but the rest of the hotel is quite worn out. Payed extra for a roomupgrade, got a large room with a huge bed but very old stained carpet and old furniture. My first... More

Pros : friendly staff, about 15min easy to find walking to the center of the town (National Theater), good buffet breakfast. Cons : the rooms are noisy because the hotel is situated along a noisy road (ask for a room on the inner site of the hotel), clean but rather worn out. Don’t believe the landscape on the site –... Stayed here at the start of the tour for 1 night. Average hotel, breakfast OK but nothing special. Rooms had a coffee maker but no coffee. Quite easy to get to the main town at night about a 15 minute walk.

Stayed here 2 days at beginning and 1 day at end of Costa Rica holiday. Hotel is not the best - our room was in need of upgrade - carpets dirty, shower dirty and tiles cracked. Breakfasts dire with no imagination. Some evening meals OK but others not. Waiting and bar staff friendly and helpful.

This was part of a package and was adequate for a short stay. The better rooms appear to be in the 2 and 300. We had 317 (exceptionally noisy as on the corner of an intersection and the local sport appears to be revving your engine and horn honking) but 315 was slightly better. The food was good - not... I had no choice about the Villa Tournon because it was part of a package and I had to go there twice - at the start and end of a Costa Rica holiday. The whole hotel is shabby and suffers from traffic noise. Some rooms have been upgraded and have a hairdryer in the bathroom. Some have parquet floors, some... More

Stayed here for 3 nights at the start of a tour Staff friendly &helpful. Room very tired & in need of refurbishment. Lighting very poor. However comfortable enough, plenty of hot water & good free wifi. Good breakfast to suit all tastes. Restaurant also has good choice at night.

We stayed for one night at each end of a group tour of Costa Rica. It was apparent that groups make up much of the hotels clientele. The service was generally good. The hotel and its rooms certainly need some refurbishment. The air conditioning is old, not thermostatically controlled and noisy. The bathroom had a shower over a bath, which... More

Big room, one floor down from Reception, overlooking the pool area. Plenty of hot water and a bath. Free wifi throughout the hotel and two PCs in Reception. About 15 minutes walk to the main square. Dinner in the hotel was just OK but expensive. Beer was very expensive. Very few customers. Breakfast was self service and adequate. Polite staff... More
