My wife and I stayed here on the last night of our trip. The hotel was nice and the restaurant was very good, but overall we weren't impressed. Our room wasn't ready when we got there so they switched us to another. Would have been fine, but we saw our original room and it looked much bigger then where we... More

Stayed here for two nights early September. Had arranged airport transfer, that was perfect, and the arrival was a wonderful experience, welcome drinks, smiling faces, beautiful property. We had a suite (#9) which was just delightful, with a private small garden in the back, with a table and chairs, very charming, very quiet, very private. We had dinner at the... More

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Grano de Oro. A 'boutique hotel', just a 15 minutes walk from city center, with probably the best restaurant in town, nice rooms (our had even a small private garden....), a very efficient and professional staff, and an extremely pleasant 'jacuzzi' space on the roof. Free wi-fi, of course. We received a free... More

This is a stunning hotel in a lovely quiet area of San Jose. Courtyard for breakfast and lunch and the beautiful colonial style restaurant for dinner. What made our stay was the staff. Wainer on the Front Desk made our stay from the second we arrived to the moment of our departure. Don't stay anywhere else !

We stayed for 1 night at this hotel. We had arrived early in the morning from our redeye from California. After our morning tour, we headed back to the hotel, though our rooms were not ready. After a while in their small lobby, they upgraded us with rooms that were ready. The rooms were very nice, staff was terrific, and... More

Here's a hotel which although pricey has an excellent restaurant and old style bedrooms. Wonderful breakfasts taken overlooking courtyard, and quality dinners. A most enjoyable four night stay. Service was very good. No problems with Wifi and plenty of cupboard space in the room.

It is not the least expensive hotel, but it is clean. You can drink the water from the faucet (it is triple filtered and these use reverse osmosis!). Restaurant is excellent, the place itself is just beautiful and even if it is a bit of a splurge, it is well worth it.

We stayed here for one night in the Vista De Oro Suite. The room still seemed to have most of the charming features of the original master bedroom that was once a part of an old mansion, which we loved. We enjoyed the views from this room as it overlooked the city as well as 3 volcanoes in the distance.... More

We stayed here three nights in a standard room for $140. It was great, the price was good, service was amazing. The room was very clean and well taken care of. The staff were extremely helpful and the place had extra amenities like computers for guest use. They even stored our bags for us free of charge while we were... More

This is a superb boutique hotel with very few faults. The building is beautiful both inside and out. When we arrived late in the evening, the reception check-in guy was not in uniform: he had a zipped up sweater which was unprofessional given all other staff we saw during our stay were in uniform. The room was not huge but... More
