What a way to spend our last night in Costa Rica! The room was beautiful and the bed very comfortable. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and absolutely loved it. The hotel is stunning and the staff were very helpful. The location was good for taking in the sights and sounds of San Jose. I would recommend this hotel... More

Stayed 2 nights. Great! Nice rooms. Had one with the patio it was very private and peaceful in the city. The restraurant was wonderful for dinner and breakfast. Within walking distance to the main street and attractions.

Extremely comfortable, attractive layout with good colonial feel. Many rooms open up into attractive interior patios with plantings and seating areas. We were able to obtain an additional night at the last minute needed due to airline troubles. We are always welcomed back by eager staff. Beautiful open- air courtyard for breakfast . Highly rated (by TA) Restaurant not outstanding... More

This luxurious hotel is a great place to stay if you are looking to stay in the city is San Jose. We were greeted by a lovely front desk staff and two mimosas. The front desk accommodated us to many different excursions. We were most impressed by their travel bus that took us down the continental divide to the Arenal... More

Beautiful small Spanish colonial hotel with small courtyards full of trees and fountains. The restaurant is outstanding (highly recommend the pork tenderloin) and the room large with very comfortable large beds. Looking forward to our return on way home

We stayed here for one night before getting picked up for the Pacuare Lodge. Using a trip advisor deal, we received a free room upgrade and a gift of coffee. The staff were extremely helpful and treated us as if we were the only guests there. There were good restaurants in walking distance if you don't want to spend extra... More

We had a lovely but short stay here. We were just passing through San Jose and this hotel is a gem. It is in a beautiful building and the courtyard dining area is a lovely place to sit. Our room was elegant and had its own small courtyard garden. The food we had, which was breakfast and lunch only, was... More

Individual design, really nice rooms, they are generous with upgrades, great restaurant, exceedingly friendly staff, this is perfect for anyone starting or ending a Costa Rican adventure in SJ (which doesn't have a lot to recommend it in general). Started and finished a 16 day self-drive holiday in the Grano d'Oro and would highly recommend it - the restaurant is... More

Booked this hotel on our last night in Costa Rica. My partner and I knew we wanted a very comfortable hotel with good food that where we can stay in and relax after a week of non-stop activities around the country. The bedroom was very nice-I love all the fine wooden furniture that was excellently crafted. The bed was very... More
