Our agent booked us in here as the last stop on our honeymoon. We saw in the guide books how highly it was rated but it was even better than it suggested! The rooms are great, staff great, and the hot tubs a bonus. But the restaurant is the undoubted highlight. It's been called the best eat in Costa Rica... More

We enjoyed the charm and elegance of the Grano de Oro: the classical architecture as well as the murals and artisanal artworks. The hotel is in a residential area, away from the hustle and bustle of central San Jose but close enough so that we were able to walk to and from the hotel. We felt quite safe. We chose... More

We stayed at this hotel for 2 days during our holidays in Costa Rica. It is a very charming hotel, very well maintained, clean, classy with a tropical style, our room was lovely and very clean. The staff was extremely friendly and nice. We had breakfast at the hotel restaurant, the service was slightly slow but good, breakfast was delicious... More

This hotel has great history, it´s a very nice option, maybe the best in Costa Rica, but as mentioned before in other reviews, I consider a luxury property when they have not only a nice infrastructure, but also when serve makes you feel they care, and much. In this case hotel is very well maintained, food is very good but... More

I stayed here in March picked this hotel not only based on the TA reviews, but the comments from other travel sources. We arrived around 4 in the afternoon after traveling about 7 hours. We were hot and tired. It was so nice that as soon as we approached the front desk, they brought us glasses of a really nice... More

We visited Grano de Oro in March for two one-night stays. The property is very quaint and well maintained. Staff is friendly and professional. Rooftop sundeck and jacuzzi were a very nice treat. Easy 20 minute cab to/from the airport. Walking distance to several nice restaurants.

Grano de Oro is a small, but very classy hotel. Like much of San Jose, the surrounding neighborhood was nothing special, but inside is a oasis of style and excellence. Our room was tiny, but we were only there one night, and it was clean and well furnished. Had birthday dinner at the formal restaurant. Excellent food and wine selections,... More

We only spent one night at the Grano de Oro on our way into the country, but what a wonderful way to start our trip. Comfortable room, lovely ambiance, outstanding restaurant with a beautiful courtyard, nice whirlpool to soak away the flight, and a helpful staff. We did not arrange any tours or activities, but the hotel staff certainly seemed able... More

We had a short but lovely stay here. Staff were first rate, the room was very nice and the amenities were very good. The best thing about our stay was eating in the lovely restaurant, dinner and cocktails were exquisite and breakfast was also top notch. The worst thing was visiting down town San Jose, not really worth bothering with,... More
