We had a clean, comfortable room with a king bed. The hotel is conveniently located on a pedestrian-only street in the center of town. Within walking distance are attractions such as the National Theater and Cathedral. Plenty of shops and restaurants are nearby. The breakfast was excellent, and included in the very reasonable nightly rate. There was a good bit... More

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Presidente. I will agree with a few other reviewers that it was hard to find but once we found it we pulled up on a side street and ran in to ask what to do. They were very helpful and very accommodating. They really took care of everything. They handled parking, getting our... More

Very centrally located hotel near lots of shopping and the market. Decent price and the rooms were very clean and included a safe. The wifi is free and available in the rooms as well as the lobby (not always the case I have found.) Breakfast is included and is very nice - huge spread of many different things. The staff... More

Stayed here for one night en route back to US. It's centrally located, walking distance to market, restaurants, parks. Hotel has a free breakfast which is quite impressive- made to order omelets, fresh fruit, yogurt, cheeses, etc. Rooms are standard, very clean, bathrooms very clean, you get your usual soaps/shampoo/hairdryer. Water is drinkable (as it is in most of costa... More

I spent my last night in Costa Rica at Hotel Presidente. It's located on a street that is only open to pedestrian traffic. Because of that, and the many one way streets in San Jose, it wasn't easy to locate by car. One there however, the staff are friendly, and very helpful. They took the time to answer questions and... Downtown location right on central street. Helpfully checkin, with upgrade to a suite both times we stayed just for one night.frint desk staff spoke excellent English. Maps were offered noting local sites and a variety of restaurants. Rooms are large, spotless, beautiful and very comfortable.

We only stopped over for one night at The Hotel Presidente at the beginning of our holiday to Costa Rica. The reception area is impressive and the rooms are big, modern and comfortable. It's really in the heart of things and makes a good base for exploring San Jose. Breakfast offered lots of choice and was tasty. There was a... More

The staff were all very gracious, helping us figure out how to get around the city. The room was clean and comfortable. Our complimentary breakfast was delicious and there was a variety of different types of food available, including omelettes made to order. I would definitely return to this hotel.

We stayed at the Hotel Presidente for the second time recently on our last night in Costa Rica and can definitely recommend this hotel. We've stayed in both a standard (two double beds) and king spa room and both were clean, comfortable, and quiet. The staff here is exceptionally polite, helpful, and welcoming. During this stay, the front desk helped... More

A nice surprise! Our group of 4 was flying into Costa Rica to catch a Panama Canal Cruise from Puerto Caldera. Our flight took us to the capital of San Jose and we decided to stay downtown at a local hotel and experience the vibe of the city. We built 2 days in to our schedule to do this. The... More
