My boyfriend and I stayed here in transit between the airport and our trip to La Fortuna. The staff members helped us book our greyline bus for four different locations which ended up being a quite extensive task. He stayed on the phone and acted as a spanish-speaking liaison between the bus company and the hotels that we needed transportation... More

The rooms here were absolutely great, the staff make it a point to make sure you are absolutely at home here, and the owners take time to make sure you are fully accommodated and give great advice. The owners worked with me to get married here and helped every step of the way. They also helped with travel and were... More

We stayed here just one night so we could acclimate after a long trip. Hotel was situated in a very old building, but very good maintained. Area around the hotel looked a bit dangerous so we did not go outside but had dinner at the hotel. No complaints!

If you are looking for a clean, safe, very reasonably priced hotel in the heart of San Jose, this is it. The owner and front desk are incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast is included, but parking is extra (totally worth it to park securely off-street.) Walking distance to plenty of shops and restaurants. Definitely recommended.

I stayed here for a month and the ambiance and beauty of the hotel still impress me . I had health issues and diet restrictions that required many peculiar activities . Thomas and the staff went out of their way to see my needs and desires were accommodated for . You see here you are accommodated , no matter why... More

A moderately priced hotel in central San Jose. It's clean, the staff are friendly and the owner, an expat from North Carolina, is a wealth of information. I always stay here on my trips to San Jose. A full breakfast is served which makes this an even better value.

My girfriend and I stayed at the Hotel Santo Tomas for two days before we flew to Montezuma and then for a day on the way back before we flew home. The location of the hotel makes it convenient to walk to all of the major museums you would want to visit wihile staying in the area. Thomas, the owner,... More

We stayed at the Santo Thomas hotel three different occasions during our trip to Costa Rica. (January-February 2015) We loved the central location, it's cleanliness, the staff were all very helpful and we enjoyed the 'eccletic charm' of the hotel itself. I believe that it was initially the first university in San Jose. The renovations reflect the history and charm... More
