It is first non-smoking hotel in San Jose, may be, in Costa Rica. It is great for all non-smoking people and for me! The best location, hight panoramic view (el mirador), extra class service, nice cooking and all of hotel amenities. I was in this hotel 2 nights in May, 24-26. It was great! more

Overall, the hotel was clean, had all the necessary items such as towels, shampoo etc. The buffet style breakfast was ok, nothing was really too bad on there. My main problem with the hotel is that they charge you for a second person in the room, even the ones with twin beds! I talked to the manager and he said... more

This was our first and last stop on a Caravan tour. The room was beautiful and the beds were the absolute best on our whole trip. We also enjoyed the pool and spa (upstairs!). The breakfast buffet had lots of choices. Our final dinner was in one of the upstairs restaurants and was excellent. There were taxis easily available in... more

Although it took us a long time to check in, we got a great room over looking the city. The room was not luxurious, but it was clean and comfortable and had huge windows which was nice to be able to over look the city. The room service menu is not that good and neither is the restaurant we ate... more

This hotel was the one selected by Caravan Tours as part of the tour. We stayed in it for one night. It is a very nice hotel smack in the middle of the downtown area. Security seems to be good--key cards are required in the elevator for specific floors. The room was large and very well decorated. The beds were... more

Stayed for about two weeks at the Aurola Holiday Inn while on business in Costa Rica. The Hotel is located centrally across from a beautiful park and close to several good restaurants. Staff were excellent throughout the stay and as we stayed on the Executive Levels we also had our own breakfast room and business centre. The rooms were large... more

The Holiday Inn Aurola is in the best location. All of the major attractions and parks are within walking distance. The Hotel is clean, everyone is friendly, and several of the girls at the front desk spoke perfect English -- which was very helpful. I told them I was there for Spanish school and they were kind enough to communicate... more

We stayed at this hotel while on a tour. It was in a good location in the city with stores, restaurants, bars, etc. within walking distance. The staff was very courteous and accommodating and the meals in the restaurant were very good. I would consider staying at this hotel again. more

I was so disappointed by this hotel. Their service level is nothing but a joke. 1. There are no towels (yes, towels) in my room. There were bath towels but not any regular towels. It took 20 minutes to just bring towels. 2. There was no shampoo! There was a conditioner and shower cap, but NO SHAMPOO. I noticed that... more

I'm a little mystified by all the reviewers describing the place as "posh" and "upscale," but maybe it's all in the frame of reference (I note one reviewer was impressed with the fact there were two trashcans (!). Don't get me wrong, the place is fine. In any event, the positives: 1) clean, 2) no-hassle on-line reservations, 3) friendly staff,... more
