The whole place smells like filthy, old and wet. Air conditioning is a joke, one of those portable air conditioning machines, and they dont even have proper maintaince. They tend to over charge, instead of a credit card reversal, they make a "transfer" to you bank, to make it hard to get your money back. Customer service is worst ever.... More

This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in my life. The facility is old, out of date, and very filthy. Carpet is grose and slimy and there are hair and lint everywhere in the room. The bathroom was lit by only a pot light. It is so dark that you can hardly see when taking a shower. This hotel... More

This hotel has the potential to be a great classic property given some subtle updates and renovations which enhance but do not destroy the old school aesthetic. The lack of central air, or at least window air conditioning, is completely unacceptable in this day and age. Also, the public elevator leading to the rooms has a window which provides a... More

In its day and when JFK stayed there it would have been a great hotel, but the rooms need updating, airconditioning for the warmer days would be great, bowever in saying that I enjoyed my stay there....the staff are great, helpful and friendly. The staff at breakfast made a great start to the day friendly bright and made some great... More

I give three stars because the location is PERFECT. The service was good as well. I must throw in that the breakfast host, Victor (?) made your morning with the most friendly service I have come by. He his definitely a valuable asset to the hotel. However, the common areas and rooms are outdated. We had connecting superior rooms which... More

I really wanted to love this hotel ... especially the location but the hotel was quite icky and needs desperately to be updated. We got a suite at the top level for a very affordable rate and it appears that the furniture hasn't been changed since JFK stayed there. That said ... the service was excellent but I did move... The location of this hotel couldn't be better, its in the center and near the main shopping street. Also the breakfast is super because of the "live" cooking of your fresh made waffles and omelettes. The rooms are spacious but dated, what should be charming but it is not anymore, that's why I gave the 3 stars in stead of... More

Yes...she's a bit old, shabby even....and yes, perhaps a bit creepy, but if what you need is a place to sleep in the heart of San Jose, then this hotel is really not that bad. She is steps from the Teatro Nacional (a very worthwhile place to visit and take in a performance!) She is also steps from the Gold... More

The hotel does not look anything like the pictures on the website. As we drove up, I could not believe we were at the hotel because the neighborhood was not nice at all. The hotel has a bad smell, everything inside is old and the neighborhood is not clean. The bathroom in our room was not clean and the toilet... More
