This hotel was great minus the fact that on the last night we stayed there, we left an envelope with 400 US dollars in it on the credenza in the room by accident. When we inquired whether someone had found it (ie. the maid) we were told no and that she did not see the money. We were not happy,... More

Stayed at this hotel as part of a Gate1 travel tour. Nice staff and restaurant service. Coffee was always available at the rooms. The cleanliness was always noticed. Business center and computers available for your convenience.

My husband and I stayed here on our first night in Costa Rica. The room was very nice; clean, with a great bathroom and comfortable beds. We stayed on the top floor and had a nice view of the city. Wifi worked well, and the breakfast buffet the next morning was good. We ordered room service for dinner, and it... More

This was the first hotel in a long tour of Central America and proved a good place to start. Well placed between the airport and the city centre. This meant that we didn't have too far to travel after the long flight from London. The rooms are spacious and well appointed and the breakfast was of good quality and with... More

We stayed here twice--at the beginning and end of our tour. Pros: Great staff lots of places nearby to eat on a budget Cons: One room had a lot of traffic noise, the other didn't have a view of any sort--frosted windows Hard beds Hard to get the room temp right They will happily change your dollars to colones but... The hotel itself is nice enough. The breakfast buffet is good. The location is close to central San Jose. The major problem is the Disco club next door. If you are unfortunate enough to have a room on that side you will hear loud (I mean loud within your room) thumping music until 2:00 am. Hopefully the hotel will work... More

We recently spent 3 nights (in three different weeks) at this hotel. The rooms are clean and well-appointed. The water pressure in the shower was a welcome change from the showers in some of the more rustic areas. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the staff is very helpful. This is a city hotel and there is city... More

I stayed 3 nights at Tryp Sabana in February. Two Friday nights and one Wednesday night in 3 separate weeks. There is a night club adjacent to the hotel that played loud, pounding, music on Friday night that lasted to 2am Saturday morning. The hotel facility is adequate and rooms are big enough. Beds are comfortable; however, even being on... More

Only had 2 nights here, one of which was without luggage so I can vouch for hotel being well equipped with the essentials if you find yourself In the same position. Breakfast nice enough. Lively rooms and free WiFi everywhere. A few nice restaurants within walking distance without getting into any dodgy areas....try Machu Picchu Peruvian or the Brazilian steak/seafood... More

We stayed at the Tryp Sabana as part of package tour. This hotel seems to be used by several American tour operators. The hotel's exterior is pretty non-descript, but the rooms are clean and modern. The Wifi was excellent. The morning breakfast was excellent. The hotel is located near a big park and about 2.5 miles from the city center.... More
