We had a very pleasant stay and were thrilled with the upgrade to premium plus room with a magnificent view. The shower (no tub) was old school not what you usually find in a premium room. But it was nice and clean. We had to ask for wash cloths but there were two bath towels. The bed/pillows were comfy, the... More

We stayed here two nights, one at the start of our trip to Costa Rica and one at the end. I doubt if anyone visits Costa Rica on holiday to see San Jose. It's OK and the people are very friendly but most Spanish cities or even towns have more charm. You need to start and end here though for... More

Dear Mike, thank you for taking the time to write a review in Trip Advisor we are very glad to hear that you enjoyed your trip. San Jose is a very typical Central American city, it has its charm but is small and simple, even though in the last years there has been a big effort to make it more... More

A nice hotel with a very good breakfast. Room was large but with very poor lighting. It had a big sofa but no light nearby. Safe and coffee but no fridge. A bit out of town and not a particularly nice area around. But there were plenty of eating places nearby and it felt safe enough to walk around.

Dear guest, we are very glad to hear from you and your experience in our property, we are working in the lighting because apparently many people feel the same way. Many people who want to see down town take a bus ride right in front of the hotel which takes about 5 minutes other prefer to walk which is about... More

We had two stays here during our holiday to Costa Rica. The hotel was clean, lovely rooms (Premier Suite), excellent breakfast, very good restaurant meals. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Although in the city centre it was close to a large park and local shops and restaurants. The 'welcome back' message on the mirror was a nice touch.

We stayed 2 nights at the end of our 2 week-holidays in Costa Rica at Tryp. The staff are friendly, the receptionists very helpful, the breakfast is rich and of good quality, we had dinner the first night at the hotel and we were satisfied with the quality of the food and the kindness of the waiter. We've been in... More

Stayed 2 nights at the beginning and end of a tour. We were awoken very early by traffic noise. (by early I mean before 6am)The hotel is located by a very busy road. Rooms were quite spacious with all amenities (except a fridge). Only 1 bedside table for a double bed, towels are only changed every 4 days as standard,... More

Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review, it is very important for us to know what our guests think about the property and location. There are actually about 5 or 6 good restaurants within walking distance: Fogo de Brazil, Macchu Picchu, Aqui Es (Argentinian) and Basilisco (Italian) and one Cuban, and this is aside from... More

We were booked into this hotel with Gate 1 travel. Rooms were nice and staff was helpful. But only restaurants nearby that we found were fast food restaurants. Breakfast was good. Took a cab into main section of town.

Let me start by saying Costa Rica is a beautiful country. Tryp sabana is a nice hotel. Very friendly staff. Jason at the front desk was very helpful. Clean rooms. Small but nice. I would definitely stay here again.
