My friend called them a day previous to my arrival at San Jose to book me a room. They told her that its was all settled and that i could get there at any time. When i got there, it was a completely story. It was all closed and no light was on. Afortunately, it didnt take me much to... More

We reserved a room through Hostel Bookers and made the mistake of paying for 2 nights before we saw the room. As soon as we did enter (room number 5), we were greeted with a stench of sewage. We requested to change rooms, only to be told by the girl on reception that all the rooms smelt like that. She... More

I chose this place as it got so many great reviews. I'm amazed at how this was possible! The staff were friendly and very helpful. I needed to go to the shop late at night and they walked me there and were really nice. However, 1) before I arrived, I rang them and ordered a taxi to pick me up... More

Nice place with decent bfst included. Good helpful staff always willing to help. Hottest shower I've had in Central America as well which was a bonus. Recommended. Good kitchen and nice courtyard to eat in. Location not bad and close to downtown area

This hostel was the cleanest one and it seems to be really safe but there were only two or three other guests!!! Rooms are quite new and the staff is really friendly and helpful. I went there twice and I would always come back! I also recommended it to two friends and they were quite satisfied as well!

We ended up in Hostel 1110 by accident after missing our bus from the Tracopa bus station. A taxi driver took us here and at the time we were just grateful to have somewhere to stay. The owner was welcoming and we got a private room. The room was fine but didn't feel 100% clean. It needed redecorating and the... More

This hostel is fine if maybe you're staying for a night in San Jose and are weary from travelling and just need to pass out in a bed, any bed. The beds were pretty uncomfortable (many missing slats) and the room incredibly crowded with bunk beds, barely enough space for your bag. Breakfast is 2 little slices of white bread,... More

Awful rooms, not clean, no service, dirty shared bathroom, dirty sheets, breakfast is selfservice and includes two slices of bread with jelly out of a huge 'tub'. No restaurants in the surrounded area. Dont go here!!!!!!!!

Great staff, nice attempted character. Rooms were decent, but the bathrooms smelled horrible. We did not even attempt to shower because it was ice cold. Breakfast was white toast, butter and jam with coffee. There is a locked front gate that staff control, which was nice. Very noisy because of the thin walls, so bring earplugs if you have trouble... Clean place, not very helpfull staff. Despite our reservation, after a journey of 20 hours to Costa Rica we had to wait 30 minutes in the car before we could get in te parkingplace and room. Overprices for the room you get.
