I've stayed at this Courtyard many times and have always had a good stay. The hotel is located in a very nice area and is across the highway from an American style shopping mall. It's also right next to a Hooters, Outback Steakhouse, and a few other upscale restaurants (Sushi, Italian, Peruvian, etc). The hotel is about 20 minutes from... more

Our travel agent recommended the Courtyard by Marriott in San Jose. We wanted a place in San Jose that was clean and comfortable and that's what we got! The rooms had a great bathroom and comfortable bed. The travel concierge, Roderigo was very helpful in planning day trips, transfers and dinners. The gift shop was very nice and had an... more

We stayed here before joining a Disney Adventure tour. The staff was extremely helpful - all spoke English. Location by a small shopping mall offered lots of choices for restaurants but we had to take a $2 cab to the larger mall because of no sidewalks. Room was typical Marriott - 4 pillows on each bed. Our granddaughter wanted to... more

My wife and I used Marriott points to stay here one night after touring the rest of Costa Rica. It's a average hotel located in a strip mall. There's a Hooters (lol) directly across the street and an Outback Steak House a short walk to the other end of the strip mall. The hotel staff were friendly and the room... more

This Courtyard is beautifully done. Nice lobby, pretty rooms, cute little pool. We stayed for a night before flying out on points. For that purpose it was really perfect. We had room 111 which faced a grassy courtyard (not the highway) and was quiet. However, its not in San Jose so don't expect to see the city at all. Its... more

The hotel is about 30 minutes from the airport & a taxi is roughly $20 US dollars. When we were flying out we made a reservation for the free 9 am shuttle. We were literally a minute late & the shuttle left us! They never once called our room, nothing - just left & I saw the shuttle leaving -... more

We stayed at this hotel for three days before joining a dive boat and then again for one night on our return. The hotel is beautifully decorated and furnished. with a small but attractive garden. The pool was only really big enough for 'dipping', not suitable for serious swimming (two strokes, then turn!!), but still a welcome amenity with plenty... more

I'm a platinum member at Marriott and this one lives up to all the standards of a courtyard though its more like a marriott class with the duvet bedding and other furniture. Didn't visit the other Marriott in San Jose, but this one was more than fine and seemed to have a better location. Youre right across from a high... more

The Courtyard Marriott in Escazu is a great place to begin or end your stay in Costa Rica. It is a very short taxi ride ($2.00) to a large mall with movies in English and fast food restaurants. The plaza located next to the hotel is very nice with an Outback Steakhouse and Hootersrestaurant with several other interesting restaurants and... more

Background: We came to the Courtyard for one night prior to our morning flight home after 12 days at Los Suenos Marriott, which was amazing. I stay in Courtyards regularly, so I won't compare this hotel to the Marriott (not a fair comparison). Most of the other reviewers have covered the features of this hotel well. My "items to note"... more
