We stayed in three areas during our excursion to Costa Rica; Langosta, Tamarindo, and Escazu. And the Beacon was hands down the best hotel we stayed at. The room was lovely and very well kept. The food in the restaurant was worth every penny and some of the best we had. The staff is amazing and went out of their... More

There are other upscale "name" brand hotels in the area. Beacon offers great accommodations at better prices! It is also located a short cab ride away (depending on traffic of course) from some of the best restaurants in San Jose. And close to the nicest mall too! Plus some good night spots. Not all the area is upscale. It is... More

A very luxurious place for the money. There are other "Name" brand hotels in San Jose area. Which are supposedly more upscale. Maybe not! This hotel gives you very nice accommodations for a lot less. Definitely worth checking out! And you are a quick cab ride away from some of the best restaurants and shopping mall in San Jose. Warning,... More

We stayed here because online the photos of the junior suite had a full living room and looked great. When we got here the junior suite was a small regular hotel room with no sofa or living room. We were very disappointed and will not stay here again. You do not get what you see in the photos. The walls... More

The hotel is a nice facility with a great view from the roof. The room had a comfortable bed and the air conditioner worked fine. No windows to let in light unless you open the floor to ceiling drapes next to the door. The hair dryer and toilet paper holder were missing. The hotel seemed empty. At the restaurant, I... More

I got lucky and booked this room at the last minute for around $70. The room and bed were first class, the only negative is that the room did Not have a window. The hotel itself is in the city but outside the city center. It is gated and has protected underground parking. As I only stayed in San Jose... More

I am on my second day at the hotel, and I really like it. It's not a 5-star hotel according to American standards, but I think it is still really nice. Bonus: FREE local and international calls from your room! There is also free wifi and free breakfast (which is more than just fruit; I thought it was great). The... More

My family and I stayed at Hotel Beacon for two nights at the end of our vacation in Costa Rica. I made the reservation last minute and our first night was indicative of my lack of planning. My husband and I had to "share" a double bed and our 12 yr old son opted for a roll-away, rather than sharing... More

I stay there for 2 nights with breakfast included. The price of the Deluxe room was $79 plus taxes and I think that this is one of the best quality/price that you can get in San Jose, they have a little jacuzzi in the middle of a little tropical garden, the food at the restaurant is good and yes it... I went for information about the hotel and asked to speak to the manager, he came out of his office on a rage, I even though he was going to get physical with me, he started to scream at me. He was really mad about me asking for him and didn't let me speak, I just left to never come... More
