This appears to have been a nice, remote resort at one time. However the years have not been kind to it, and it is now quite rundown. There is no longer a serviced swim up bar or any amenities on site. The restaurant across the road was a great stop but the only one nearby. The majority of other places are 30 minutes away.

Christian on the front desk was super super helpful. Great at his job, provided us with so much help and care whilst we were staying! The place is really clean, well kept and quite. Great value and would certainly stay again if we decide to come back to CR

Peaceful and beautiful! Wonderful accomodations and great service! The pool is heated year round, and the grounds are kept in perfect harmony with nature. Rooms are spacious and clean, and members of the staff are always willing to accomodate any special requests.

Pueblo Real is part hotel and part condos - at least it was when I last stayed there. THe hotel rents out the condos and you should ask for photos and a list of amenities in the condo when booking a stay, as furnishings vary greatly among them. Most recently I visited the little restaurant before heading out to the Isla Damas Monkey Tour. The restaurant is at the end of a road that ends at what used to be a boat landing for the estuary tours. Now the estuary is filling in from run-off in the river. Upstream the mountains are being clear cut and there is little to hold the sediment. The front desk attendant can help you book a Monkey Tour - not to be missed.

The room was nice, it had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living and dining room and a kitchen very well equipped, but the maintenance is not good. The articles in the kitchen were not very clean. The shower was not clean. The gardens are not well maintained, and less the swimming pool that collapsed in those days for lack of correct maintenance. It is a pity that a nice place like this is neglected. Im a week I could not see a manager hanging around to see what was happening.

We enjoyed the resort, but no laundry service. Only Spanish TV stations and DVD player did not work.Wi-Fi was only available at the office...for a fee. otherwise we had a great time. The pool was our afternoon spot, we did morning trips to the beach and park. There is a great place you can eat by the resort that you can walk to.called Cayuga, we went there just about every night, the food was good and the people were great. Our biggest problem was not speaking Spanish, we managed but was a challenge.

They lead you to believe they're in Quepos, they're not and a $10 taxi fare to Quepos. There are not any restaurants or any other open business within walking distance. The condo is nicely decorated and clean and well equipped, but you must have a car. We booked and paid for 7 nights and only stayed 2 as their water was not working. That means no toilet, no shower and no coffee. Don't care what the price is, I expect to be able to turn on the water faucet and have water. No water for 1 morning could be understood, but 2? Not my kinda of vacation and now they're refusing any refund.

Pueblo Real is a perfect place for relaxing and being away from all the hustle and bustle. Elizabeth and ( her) boys Carlos and Kevin are very accommodating to your wants and needs. They helped set up the excursions we were interested in doing. Anita and Monica do a great job with breakfast. They also have the restaurant across the road. We found the location perfect for what we wanted. If you have time make sure you take the monkey tour and the Manuel Antonio tour with Oscar. He's very knowledgeable and enthusiastic.

We enjoyed our stay for a week. Clean and friendly. Blanco the bartender was great and Anna the cook was very good. I would go back. The drive from San Jose was a little long but worth it. Also Elizabeth was a great host and did a nice job at the breakfast briefing.
