I stayed at Kayak Lodge for my last night in the Quepos area after leaving my hostel. This is located off of the main road, but it is tucked away down a long dirt road. There is a small grocery store at the end of the dirt road so that you can buy snacks or food for lunch or dinner.... More

Delta Reserve Credit Card American Express® Sponsored Learn more [No Subject] Dec 27, 2015, 6:47 PM From Me Incredibly designed hotel.  Skylights and vaulted ceilings.  A/C works very well.  Very nice swimming pool with waterfall.  Welcome center is housed in a dome with stools and a projector screen.  Exceptionally well designed place with great attention to detail. Extremely friendly and personable... More

Bernal and Marlene were exceptional hosts. Their lodge is located about 10 minutes outside of Quepos, and I only stayed here one night because I arrived in Quepos/Manuel Antonio area a day earlier than I had planned originally. Once I got there, Bernal let me pick out the room that I liked the most, and then he drove me a... More

Friends who stayed here recommended the place and we were not sorry to have taken their advice. 1.5km away from the main road so we had to walk there from where the bus had left us. The owner and his wife are very friendly. Mangrove tour with kayak was guided perfectly by Jorge. Rooms are big and have all facilities,... More

We are delighted to see that current reviews describe Kayak Lodge just as we remember from our visit two years ago, Feb 2014. Bernal and Marlene are wonderful hosts! All of the staff we encountered were also very friendly and helpful. Thank you again Yanin and Glenda. Our stay was unusual because most guests are there for one or just... More

We stayed here on our way to and from Drake Bay. The hosts were extremely friendly and made us feel right at home. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Located close to a mangrove forest where kayaking was available. We will return if in the area again.

My husband, I and another couple spent two nights at this very unique lodge. Owners Bernard and Marlene make you feel like family from the time you book all the way through your stay. They are ideally located if you're headed to Manuel Antonio or the Osa Peninsula as we were, so we spent one night on the way down... More

My husband and I wanted an overnight get away while the kids were at camp. We arrived early in the morning for the mangrove tour with Bernard. What an incredibly delightful person. I don't know if it was his lighthearted laugh or the smooth kayak skimming through the water which completely won us over. We loved the kayak tour. We... More

Words like quaint, rustic, bungalows, cabins, and lodge tend to be words for small and in disrepair-in real estate. Quaint, rustic and lodge are very appropriate words for this place, in a good way. If you want to stay in the Quepos area without the issues of being in town, this is the place. It IS off the beaten path... More

My wife & I were fortunate to meet the owners & go for a tour on the mangroves. We had a wonderful time & saw many animals. The owner, who also doubles as the tour guide, was so nice & he knew a lot about the area & the animals. His wife was so sweet. If you are ever in... More
