I believe that the owner, Tony, is well intentioned. At least, I'd like to think so. However, the room we rented at Las Brisas recently left a lot to be desired. The room itself was quite clean. It had two beds in it. They were clean, though they were very close to the floor so you had to sort of... More

Stayed 2 nights @ this Hotel. Very clean, comfortable, easy access to the Ferry. Owned by a nice gentleman who welcomed us personally. He offered AND called a taxi since we were attending a wedding at Isla Tortuga in the evening AND it was pouring in Puntarenas. Advised us Of local surroundings. Good affortable price in comfort rooms. House cleaning... More

We had a fabulous experience there. I can't decide what was better: the pool (incredibly clean and very attractive), the restaurant (excellent breakfast, with good burgers, sandwiches, & spaghetti, and while the chicken cordon bleu is a bit different from what I was used to, I ordered it over and over again), or the proprietor of the hotel (who we... My wife and I needed a quick get-away from the big city and landed for a night in Las Brisas (11/2/12). We took the advice of Trip Advisor bcause it was #1. Yes, we know that Puntarenas is not very appealing upon entering at the main highway! Patience. The avenue where Las Brisas is found is a nicer area. The... More

We stayed here early last week for one night. One reviewer said it right that this only exists for the ferry overnighters. We were taking the ferry the next morning and we almost skipped it and jumped on the ferry but dusk was approaching and we didn't want to drive at night. Plus I would have felt bad since they... Although the hotel has a beautiful view over the bay, at $105 per night it hotel is overpriced -- $60 -- would be appropriate. The place is falling apart. For instance, the bathroom was not clean, the furniture was chipped, there were dirt marks on the walls and the drapery was crumpled.

The rooms are clean and comfortable. The pool is nice. The food is excellent and the variety is great for a smaller hotel. It is right on the main strip where all the action is. We were there Christmas week and it got quite loud. The doors don't seal well, but this is Costa Rica, everything is open air pretty... More

There is superb food and service at this family owned and operated hotel. The pool is a welcoming place to relax. There is no glitz and the price was very reasonable. Conviently located close to ferry and beach as well as the town center.

My first stop in Costa Rica was to a town called Puntarenas where my friends and I were doing charity work at the local hospital in town. We had been given the runaround about accommodations and decided to take matters into our own hands. While we first found Hotel Las Brisas by looking for food, we were so pleasantly surprised...
