I booked this hotel before reading reviews on this site (using the prepaid option on the DoubleTree site) and cringed when I thought of what I might be into. But I have to say, I largely enjoyed myself. There was a little bit of a wait at check-in because the hotel was sold out the night before, but they accommodated... more

The rooms are OK... but the service is really terrible. It says to be an all inclusive, but when you are trying to order a drink the most common answer is "We don't have..." The check out process is really a pain and the beach is the worst I have ever been. Not really worth! more

i was traveling alone for business but stopped by Costa Rica Double tree for a 4 day weekend vacation. The hotel which includes the facilities, front line staff, food was excellent. What disappointed was the beach (as mentioned in previous reviews), I did not one person in the ocean on my trip due to the sand and not so clear... more

We stayed at this resort while on a tour. This place is so large and spacious that one can stay here and not go any place else. The rooms are large and comfortable and the dining areas have quite a selection of food from which to choose. The swimming pools are large and attractive and the lounge areas next to... more

My wife & I wanted a place to plop our butts down on a chaise by the water and wait for the proverbial meal call for 5 lazy daze in Costa Rica; and that is what we found at this resort. This all-inclusive resort was, on the whole, a very nice and comfy place for some serious R & R... more

Sincerely I never had the chance to check-in. A few days away I decided to verify my reservation for two rooms ocean/patio since originally I booked it in June. Can you believe on Sept. 25 the hotel manager decided to change my reservation (downgraded the room to a regular room and upgraded the price) without even informing me. Thank God... more

Let’s start out with the worst things about the hotel. This hotel is not for the international traveler. Our room was double booked so they moved us 4 times in one day and ended up making us stay in an outdated time share(1970’s all the way). Oh ya this place is packed with locals that have time shares there. There... more

This is an okay property, but it is not up the same quality as what people might expcet from a hotel in the U.S. We enjoyed our stay, but there were problems getting hot water for our morning showers. Every morning we called the front desk and told them we only had cold water. They "fixed" it after 45 minutes... more

My husband and I JUST came back from this Doubletree resort over the weekend from a 4-night stay (7/21-25), and we were both very pleased with this place. First of all, if you want great, white sand beaches, you do not come to Puntarenas for them, Puntarenas beaches are known for being murky and muddy and their volcanic dark sand,... more

I admit that I was scared to stay in this hotel after reading the reviews, but I have decided that every trip is what you make of it! My husband and I just returned home on Saturday after staying at the Doubletree for 8 days. All of the staff was very friendly, the room was extremely clean, and the drinks... more
