First we have seen the room it was really great surprise with opened air bathroom but in reality it was strength to have shower and toilet in used because of mosquitoes and other insects specially at night time. We have got insects and spiders in our beds too

This hotel can almost be described as upgraded indoor camping - and it was great! The two of us stayed in the "Rana room" which is part of the main lodge building. We enjoyed being so close to the restaurant and bar because we didn't have to walk outside in the dark or in the rain. The downside is that... More

We stayed here for three nights as part of a package with Saladero Lodge and realty enjoyed our time here. Our bungalow was called Chimincoco and was set in the forest, raised up on a deck in a lovely location. A very large open sleeping area with screened sides so there was plenty of airflow and the sounds of the... More

Staying in one of the cabins is great - the furniture in all of the place is very special. The meals are fabulous. The owner, the manager and the entire staff are very helpful. The guides are outstanding. Swimming in the catarata during a hike in the national park is absolutely refreshing. Go on a night walk, too!

We booked three nights in Danta Lodge and we were lucky to have the "iglo"room. An iglo shaped room with a gorgeous bathroom. I was very enthousiastic the first day. Unfortunately it all went very wrong... We wanted to do the night tour, which was at 6pm. We showed up at the reception at 5.50h, but the guide wasn't there... More

Our second 6-night stay at Danta Lodge was spectacular! Our bungalow was adjacent to the lek of an orange-collard manakin, in view of a slaty-tailed trogon nesting in a termite nest and squirrel monkeys in the trees overhead. At the end of an early morning bird tour with Eduardo, we were summoned to rescue a 3-toed sloth threatened by dogs... More

You nearly feel like sleeping outside in spite of lying in a comfortable bed. The walls are only mosquito nets with curtains if needed. Quite an experience to sleep listening to all the sounds of the night! The well equipped bathroom has concrete walls with no insight but are totally open for insects between wall and roof. Be prepared to... More

We were met at Playa Blanca by a smiling David after crossing Golfo Dulce from Saladero Lodge by boat. The welcome was made even more memorable by squawking macaws in the palms along the beach. The lodge was a short drive away near a small village--but apart from the village. We had planned to stay in one of the bungalows,... More

The lodge looks amazing from the inside, everything is ecologically built. The location in the wild makes it an adventurous experience, felt so in touch with nature. Seeing a trail of moving leaves carried by ants on the way to the lodge, hearing the cries of the nocturnal animals in the midst of the night, taking a shower in the... More

After a beatiful ride down from the central mountain range of Costa Rica we arrived in the small community of Las Palmas. We passed by colourful houses and got a small taste of the real Costa Rica. As we arrived in the pooring rain we were welcomed by one of the boys working in the lodge. He just stood there... More
