first time we arrived to cabinas tropicales, gringo mark casually informed us that he had overbooked, and that our reserved room was no longer available. he was amicable enough about it, and led us to a neighboring hotel, which was fine. we were promised an upgraded room for our return stay less than a week later. however, when we returned,... We enjoyed our stay for week in this garden atmosphere. It was fun to visit with other guests in the common area. The communal outdoor kitchen was spacious and clean with decent cookware. The nice hardwood counters made it easy to work independently of other guests. There is space for your food and everything is well organized. At the end... More

Very modern, clean and simple rooms with wonderful outdoor bathroom/shower area. The kitchen for guests is open and has beautiful local handmade wood countertops and tables.. The owner is very available and he lets you use the bikes for free! The kitchen could use a supply of salt and pepper or other spices that people want to leave to share.... More

We just loved Puerto Jimenez and our stay here made it even better. It has a great location slightly out of town but an easy walk in and very near the water front and the restaurants there. Mark the owner is so friendly and helpful. He sorted a fab Kayak tour into the mangroves for us which was just brilliant!!... More

This is a small piece of paradies in Puerto Jimenez! If you have any questions, the owner Mark is a source of many Informations concerning the Corcovado Park and the hole peninsula de Osa, and he build a birds paradies in his garden- the home of Rufus, the hummingbird. Hot showers, great Rancho, very clean room. We had Red Aras... More

We spent 3 days in Puerto Jimenez (prior and after a trip to Corcovado National Park) and were enchanted by our stay at Cabinas Tropicales. Rooms are basic but nice, clean, and spacious. Air con works perfectly. The "lobby" is a cozy open space full of plants and flowers where you can have a drink while chatting with other travelers... More

For a very reasonable price, this place (designed and built and by Mark, the owner) gives you a clean, air-conditioned room and a comfortable common area where you can visit with fellow travelers, who are likely to be in the area to visit Corcovado National Park. During my visit, I found Mark to be extremely helpful in arranging a cost... More

We stayed there as a couple in room #1 and it was perfect for our needs. We slept there one night before the 3 days hike, and another night after the hike. Mark, the owner, was not there during our stay, but the local guy that replaced him was just great. We felt very safe to leave our stuff there... More

Captain Mark is very hospitable and ensured we got to the Corcovada National Park as promised. The Cabins are very well maintained and affordable, and are walking distance to the airport. Great place to base yourself if you want to visit Corcovada National Park.
