This place was amazing! Landscape, pool, Staff, rooms and hot water! Awesome homemade bread and coconut jam marmalade for breakfast was the piece De resistance. However, it is in a preserved part of the coast and jungle like setting gives way for many, many critters! Still, I loved it!

Dear Isabel, thank you for your nice review. We are happy to read that you enjoyed our homemade bread and and marmalade. We will be happy to share recipes if you would like so. The critters come and go, but we will be there to welcome you again any time! Villas Gaia staff!! More

Went there for a Sunday lunch and had delicious Tilapia with Shrimp dish & my husband had the Thai Chicken. The ambience is nice and location is easy to find, right off the Costanera highway. Service was great as well, with the World Cup playing in a cozy living-room style area.

My wife and I travelled to Costa Rica with our 2 small children in April. We really were not sure where to stay when we reached the South Pacific coast but we heard that Ojochal was a beautiful area, so off we went. When we got there the views were spectacular with white sandy beaches and the small town of... More

This hotel was a great place to explore the Oso Peninsula. It is eco-friendly with a naturalist onsite, recycling and solar heating for water (never any issues with hot water). It is not a five-star hotel, but is wonderful to stay to feel closer to nature and save money. The hotel was clean, staff were friendly and there is a... More

We had a great night at the Villas Gaia, which is only a stone's throw from the main road. However, there is no undue noise from traffic and, with the bungalows set in wonderful, tropical grounds, the night's silence is broken only by the sounds of the creatures that inhabit the jungle. Wonderful. The restaurant served good value, tasty food... More

Stayed for one-night coming back up from Osa Peninsula. For lodging in the $75 a night range, this is one of the better options in the Uvita - Ojochal stretch. Yes, it is a 'roadside hotel' but it served my objectives perfectly. Rooms have a/c, pool with ocean view, above average food (rest. worth considering all alone) and convenient location... More

We live in Costa Rica and had booked a couple of nights at this hotel for a getaway, but, after reading a few negative reviews, we had misgivings. Our fears turned out to be unfounded, for the most part. The staff was friendly and most helpful. The grounds are beautiful with the cabinas situated to afford privacy and jungle views.... More

Despite the presence of the busy road close by this was a very nice place to stay for a few nights. The cabins were placed around the well maintained gardens, and the pool was beautiful. The cabins were spacious, shower worked well, as did the aircon which we appreciated. It was hot & humid when we were there. The food... More

We stayed 1 sleepless night at Villas Gaia and would not recommend anyone to stay there. Every minute or so a truck roars past with 80kph and the bungalows let the noise right through - it is incomprehensible to me why this accommodation was built right next to the highway. Unfortunately we had already paid for the night (trip organised... More

The hotel consists of very nice cabins that are spread out in tropical forest. Good shower, comfortable bed and privacy. The pool overlooks the canopy and has a partial view of the coast. There is a resident iguana and macaws visit the trees. We highly recommend the night walk or early morning walk with Giovanni. Great introduction to tropical creatures!
