We arrived at Campanario the day after Christmas after flying into San Jose, taking a car to Sierpe, and spending the night there. Up to this point, we had already had quite an adventure, so we weren't sure what to expect. Campanario is truly a treasure. You need to go with expectation of doing LOTS of hiking - even to... More

My favorite place in the ENTIRE WORLD!!!!!!!! Its the perfect way to become close to nature. Everything is clean and comfortable, and the food and coffee are incredible. I've been here three times and I love it!!!!

I was there with my Biology class and it was a trip that I will never ever forget. If you're ready for a nature adventure, this is the right trip for you! The food is amazing, the housing perfect for the setting, the hammocks overlooking the ocean a dream and I've learned so much from all the staff there. I... More

I can't wait to return, with my family and another high school group. Rustic and perfect are the two words that come to mind. I love the lack of electricity and outdoor showers and sharing the rainforest hikes with monkeys and toucans and crabs and snakes. From the beach landing to the cottages for sleeping to the food to the... More

Stayed here four days with a high school group in April, 2014 - I will be returning with my family, hopefully this summer. Nancy embodies the spirit of the place with her energy and enthusiasm for every aspect of ecology, the rainforest, the ocean and the intertidal zone. The accommodations are rustic but clean and comfortable and the views from... More

I stayed here with seven fellow students about two weeks ago. It was pure Heaven. Helping out and getting to know the people and surrounding rain forest was unforgettable. I hope to return someday to this truly magical place. I had the best time of my life here.

If you want an authentic Costa Rican experience there is no better spot to stay. Campanario is a true gem and one of the most amazing places I've been. Nancy, the owner is a wealth of knowledge. The location is remote and beautiful. When you go, stay as long as you can. You will never want to leave.

I am a single mom with twin 12 year old girls and we had the most amazing experience. Words cannot describe the beauty of the surroundings. Everywhere you look there is beauty; it is overwhelming (but in a very good way)! The life style is simple and it may take a day to adjust, but it is fabulous to live... More

My wife and I were looking for a true rainforest experience. We didn't want or need luxury. No electricity, no hot showers, no TV, no Wifi in the middle of the jungle only reachable by boat and less than an hour walk to Corcovado.....Yes Please! This place is a remote research station frequently used as a destination for high school... More
