Lookout Inn is a little piece of paradise. It is up a hill and has a great view of the ocean. Right on the premises you can see and hear the ocean. At the night the sound of the ocean is very soothing. And of course there is plenty of wildlife on the premises. You can see macaws, coati, parrots,... More

If you want to hike directly into Corcovado National Park, "the most biologically diverse place on earth," the Lookout Inn is the place to stay. We day hiked into Corcovado from the Lookout Inn with Elias, a guide provided by Terry, and saw an enormous variety of wildlife. Elias is amazing, insightful and a little spiritual when speaking of his... More

The Inn is perched up a hill and has a great view of the area. There are spots on three levels to sit and look over the beach. There is lots of wildlife on the premises: macaws regularly criss-cross overhead; a troup of coati (racoon family) come around regularly. There are hummingbirds, parrots, geckos, frogs. The beach has shade areas... More

What a terrible place. The waves are so noisy you can't sleep properly, the swimming pool is taken up by frogs, you're constantly molested by the beautiful fragrance of Ylan Ylan, the sunsets are so kitschy that it hurts, snakes nearly fall into your food at dinner time, you keep tripping over toads on the footpaths at night and the... My family and I stayed here for a week and celebrated New Years Eve 2011 on the beach with a BBQ and bonfire! Which was great fun even though Terry thought that he would change time to convince all the guests that it was midnight at 8pm and pack us all off to bed like good little guests! Don't expect... My wife and I stayed at the Lookout Inn for 4 nights in early January and wish we had planned to stay longer. Terry and his wife Katya are terrific hosts who always make themselves available, and the whole staff could not be more friendly. Meals are delicious and varied, all done in a buffet family style that gives plenty... More

The best vacation I had in years! Location is simply unbeatable. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Food is excellent. Monkeys are completely fearless. Both library and bar are well-stocked. More

Only people who have done their research should be allowed into this paradise. White faced monkeys walk past your room, rare scarlet macaws fly around all day long, while the expert chef and his caring assistants take care of your needs. Three meals a day (they blow a shell to call you to meals, and their dogs howl along). We... More

Still as lovely as I remember it and the hosts still as charming and interesting as they were 6 years ago. Going to sleep with the sound of the Pacific Ocean waves pounding the shore, waking up to coffee and juices followed by a conch shell call to a delicious full Costa Rican breakfast is a real treat. we spent unforgettable 8 days at Lookout Inn from dec24 2011 - jan01 2012. location is fantastic, with wonderful views and so much wildlife in Corcovado of course but also just around the inn. Relaxed, yet very comfortable settings, beautiful gardens, and great decks for meals with sunset and wildlife. The Monkey house is just great, as is the food... More
