We spent 3 nights enjoying the birding at the Lodge. Rising early in the morning to go out on walk with either Abraham or Ulises we added numerous birds to our list. The meals were fantastic with something for everyone including people with food sensitivities. Liz and Abraham go out of their way to find the birds, reptiles and insects... More

My son and I spent three days in the lodge in March 2013. We had a great time: Liz and Abraham are fantastic hosts, the stuff is excellent and the place itself very beautiful and tranquil. This was my second stay in the lodge, and I am looking forward to coming again the next year!

I spent 6 fantastic days at the Bosque del Río Tigre lodge last summer, and have been raving about it to everyone who will listen ever since. What other reviewers have said here are all true - it's a beautiful little lodge with mind-boggling birds, most of which are viewable right on the property or within walking distance of the... More

Upon arriving at Bosque del Rio Tigre on the afternoon of Feb. 7, 2013, so many things happen at once that it’s a bit hard to untease the events. First, we ford the Rio Tigre to our Lodge. Immediately we are in wonder at the two-story building. Then as if some avian god directed the action, lodge owner Abraham informs... More

First of all, this was a very cool place to stay at overall. The open air design of the lodge really connects you with nature, both in feeling and quite literally. Abraham and Liz are great hosts, and this place provides great service, and yummy food. The lodge itself is kept spotless, and cools down to a very comfortable level... More

We spent 3 days and nights in the Osa penninsula, largely inspired by Barret Lawson's A Bird-Finding Guide to Costa Rica. This was the beginning of week 2 of our 15-day customized tour that was set up by Costa Rica Gateway, whom we also highly recommend. We had driven in a one-way rental car from Rancho Naturalista and the Savegre Mountain... More

I wrote this for UK birding magazine "Birding World" Costa Rica is one of the best-known neotropical destinations with its well-maintained roads and network of protected areas, and a two-week trip can get you a haul of up to 540 species. However many groups fail to visit the Osa Peninsula located in the south-west in the Puntarenas Province on the... More

Not much I can add to previous reviews, except to say it's all true. The place is amazing, and the owners take the time to make sure every guest has a great stay. The accommodations are comfortable, if somewhat spartan. I found it very pleasant, but others might not like the open air feeling. The food is outstanding, and the staff... More

Just returned from a week in Costa Rica's Osa penisula staying at the Bosque del Rio Tigre. I went for the birding and the true rain forest experience and I was not disappointed. The lodge was magical with the rooms open to the forest but private for reading or relaxing. The birding was terrific - I saw 180 species, many... More

Just returned from Bosque del Rio Tigre in Costa Rica's Osa Peninsula. I can't say enough about the comfort, cleanliness, clean smooth linens (washed by hand in pristine mountain water), and of course the food. Three meals a day, one more delicious than the next. Freshest ingredients with wonderful flavorful local spices. And way healthy! The lodge is tucked right... More
