For the past five Christmas holidays, my family has visited the Osa peninsula staying at various Eco resorts. El Remanso is now our go-to resort for many reasons. The accommodations are simple, but very adequate and we've always felt very comfortable. The owners and staff treat you like family, the food is gourmet, and there is always something for everyone's... More

This is our second trip to El Remanso and we can't wait to return a third time. Our family of four traveled to El Remanso the first week of June 2015 (last trip was end of Dec 2011) - this trip is the most favorite vacation spot for our family including our 19 year old daughter and 17 year old... Quite possibly the best place I have ever stayed at. Ok, so your wife can't use a hair dryer and there is no TV....and that's all part of the sheer joy of staying here. Chef is a genius and the staff are all friends. If this place is an option for you, don't think twice..do it!! Listen to Howler monkeys... More

I chose El Remanso for the destination to celebrate my parent's 50th anniversary. We couldn't have asked for more. The cabins were almost like tree houses, the food was fantastic and the staff could not have been any lovelier. It had a fabulous number of trails, many quite challenging and the wildlife was everywhere! Their packages including activities were very... More

We visited El Remanso recently for our honeymoon and it was great from start to finish. The staff are great - so friendly, helpful, knowledgable. It's on the more expensive side but definitely worth it; the rooms are beautiful, spacious and you can see toucans and macaws from the porch. There are loads of monkeys too. The food is great... Our third trip of 4000 miles to this property to this lodge, which really says it all. It is run by the owners, who greet you personally. The staff make you feel like one of the family. The food is excellent. The rooms, a mixture of cabins and rooms are plain but very comfortable and ideal for the location. Excellent... More

Our 10 day exploration of Costa Rica in July 2014 took us to El Remanso for three enchanting nights. This trip - our first to Central America - was full of surprises, and each of the four eco-lodges we selected had great things to offer. But with El Remanso, we had definitely saved the best for last. Arriving at the... More

My husband and I celebrated our 25th anniversary at El Remanso and it was the perfect choice for us! We stayed in La Vainilla deluxe cabin and loved it -- literally surrounded by nature and with plenty of privacy. The adventure began with the domestic flight from San Jose to Puerta Jimenez on a 12-seater airplane that lands on a... More

Stayed in April for 4 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. Accomodation was excellent. Restaurant and food wonderful. Staff extremely friendly and very accommodating. Tours offered at lodge are very good. Make a note the trip down to the beach is quite a hike back up if it is in the middle of the day - take plenty... More

Spent 3 days at El Remanso, would have loved it to be 3 weeks. This is a really luxury eco lodge, the rooms and facilities are beautiful whilst blending in perfectly with their natural surroundings. The property includes a huge area of forest with suspensions bridges, trails and a stunning deserted pacific beach. It is teeming with wildlife and you... More
