We have been to many different Caribbean resorts, but this was our best vacation. The wildlife was fantastic. From the moment we arrived you could hear the howler monkeys. Sounded like Jurassic park movie. We stayed in a cabin which had a few hot water issues but the staff immediately tried to fix our problems and gave us a bottle... More

We just love this place! Above all else, Adri and Daniel are the most gracious hosts we've ever met. They clearly enjoy people and love what they do and it shows. The grounds, architecture and service is all first class and the dinners are perfectly romantic. We've traveled throughout Costa Rica and have found the trails at El Remanso to... More

After reading the last two or three reviews, I really cannot add much more than to say I agree completely. We were a little concerned about the lack of air conditioning in hot Costa Rica, especially as far as sleeping at night, but it really was no problem. The grounds, views, wildlife, birds, setting were all fantastic, but the real... More

6 of us friends stayed here for 4 nights in January as part of a tour of Costa Rica, and we were so glad that our tour planner, Audley, had kept this place until last, the Grand Finale. The experience of flying in to Puerto Jimenez in a 12-seater single-engined aircraft was followed by a very bumpy jeep ride to... More

Our family went on a rather last minute 2-week trip to Costa Rica in December / January, and were fortunate enough to learn about El Remanso through a friend. When I sent an email late one night, Adri, the owner, got right back to me and told me they had just had a cancellation and could accommodate our family in... More

The accommodations, the food, the service were all exceptional! We became friends with all of the people we came in contact with at El Remanso, staff and guests alike. There are all kinds of activities, some very adventurous, others more tranquil..all in an indescribably beautiful place. We especially liked the suspension bridges and zip lining through the forest, the waterfall... More

The people are amazing, the property is incredible with a significant portion of primary forest, and the room and food was great. The guides are absolutely first class - they take the time to understand what people are interested in and they go above and beyond in describing how all the diverse plants and wildlife interact with each other as... Everything about this lodge is good. The staff are well trained and they all know what the guests are doing, and keep them informed, remembering most by name. The rooms are comfortable, the food is the best I have had in Costa Rica, the grounds are lovely, and the guides are excellent. There are well-marked trails around the property, and... More

I loved this place, they treat you like a house guest. No room keys, no signing for drinks, very friendly, very helpful. They changed hikes/tours to suit our needs, so flexible to meet guests needs. Wow, the room is amazing...swimming pool relaxing. Everywhere very clean. The food was the best food I have eaten in a hotel, great for vegetarians.... More

This place was way out in nowhere. We were dropped of at the El Remanso offices in Port Jimenez and picked up by staff for our 45 plus minute ride to the lodge. This ride included crossing some creeks and riding through rough roads. On arrival, we were greeted by office staff. We were given a brief orientation and shown... More
