My husband and I recently spent five nights at Tiskita Jungle Lodge. We will definitely be going back! We were the only guests at the lodge during our stay, which helped to make it feel as though we were almost extended family rather than just clients. There are no TVs or radios in the rooms which allows you to really... more

We just got home from 2 weeks in Costa Rica and Panama and by far, our 3 days at Tiskita were THE highlight. Within one hour of our arrival, we had seen a sloth, a dozen or so white faced monkey, a dozen or so squirrel monkeys, agoutis, and two iguanas. By the time we left, we were able to... more

First of all, this is going to be quite a lengthy review...as I found very limited information about this resort and would have loved more details. We are a family with two young boys and were trying to decide if this resort was right for us. I hope this review will be helpful to someone else in the same situation.... more

Me, my husband, sister and brother in law stayed 3 nights at Tiskita in December. We put together a list of what we thought were the pros and cons of the lodge. Tiskita used to be a cattle ranch and was deemed a national reserve and reforested by Peter (the owner) and his family. He planted a mahogany and an... more

Our three day stay at Tiskita Jungle Lodge was the highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. We felt like guests of the Aspinalls instead of clients at a hotel. We loved the family style meals where Peter and Lisbeth joined us for each meal and sat chatting afterwards for as long as the guests cared to stay. The abundance... more

We had a wonderful time at Tiskita. We booked our tour (which also included Arenal and Monteverde) through CR Connection/ CR Sun Tours who suggested we go there. We arrived from San Jose by small domestic plane to Tiskita's private airstrip (grass) and both flights coming and going were beautiful. It's a wonderful way to see the countryside. We were... more

My husband, two boys (ages 4 and 6), and I have just returned home from spending 5 nights at Tiskita. We had a great time! We relaxed, saw tons of wildlife and really felt we were in the rainforest. I loved getting away from cars and televisions and just listening to the jungle sounds. The boys especially enjoyed the pool,... more

This is definitely a fantastic spot if you want to get off the beaten tourist path. There are nicely-groomed private trails for hiking, an incredible fruit orchard and comfy, screened-in rooms that are perfect for listening to the sounds of the rainforest at night. The cabins, made entirely of wood, are dotted along the hillside and have incredible views of... more

Spent 2 weeks in the southern peninsula (Not the Osa, the southern Peninsula) and had a great time. I would suggest (if you have the time) to rent a car and drive if possible (it takes about 10hrs from SJO) because my trip wouldn't have been half as fun without the mobility a 4x4 provided me. I was in awe... more

Tiskita Lodge is on the Pacific coast of far southern Costa Rica. It is a family run lodge with cabins scattered about a beautiful section of rainforest. Meals are included, and feature Costa Rican cuisine with an emphasis on the over 100 varieties of fruits and vegatables grown locally. The host family are natives, one of which is a horticulturalist,... more
