This place is really nice, the rooms are pretty and clean. The breakfast is different every morning and always delicious. The staff is also very nice. We also got a guided tour of the butterfly garden, it was very interesting and beautiful! You just have to be aware that it is located on a very steep hill. We did not... More

This was my second time staying here, this time for a week. I stayed with my father and my teenage son (I wouldn't really recommend it for young children). We enjoyed our time very much at this establishment and always looked forward to the delicious breakfasts. The water pressure and temperature was fine and the air conditioning worked very well,... I had a hard time trying to find a place to stay in Montezuma because many of the reviews were not so great for other places in the area. So, I am so glad that I found this place and you will be too. I wish we would have stayed longer. My husband and I stayed here for only one... More

We booked for two nights and stayed a third. Great place to stay while exploring the Montezuma area. The owners and the staff are wonderful people and are very helpful in giving advice and directions regarding the area. Breakfast is fantastic, with the menu changing daily. The butterfly garden is very impressive and we had a personal tour of this... More

We arrived in Montezuma intending to stay for two nights but we loved everything about the Mariposario Gardens so much we stayed for six nights. Our room was really clean, the beds were comfortable and the towels were soft and fluffy! The breakfast each morning was absolutely delicious, with a bowl of fresh fruit, coffee, juice, and an ever changing... More

A great base for exploring the whole southern end of the Nicoya Peninsula. We stayed for three nights and it was a great place to start the day and retreat to in the evening. Our only suggestion would be fly screens on the bedroom patio doors for those of us who attract the mossies. Great beer available too!

We LOVED staying here! The staff was knowledgeable and friendly (the owners are great people), the grounds are beautiful, and it is nearby to some great hikes (the waterfalls!). Be forewarned that this B7B is a bit of a walk downhill to the city center, which means UPHILL back to your room at night.

Every once in a while we come upon a place we can't seem to get enough of. This is what happened to us during a recent visit to Costa Rica. Mariposario B&B was recommended to us by some friends in Canada and when we arrived in Montezuma one evening we went to see is there was a room available. Being... More

It began with me asking Josh what would be the best way for getting from Monteverde to Montezuma with only using public transportation. On the same day he replied with a detailed description of the route. With that we were able to get to Montezuma without any problems and also save some good money compared to the shuttle. Throughout our... More

We stopped in to check out the butterfly garden. This is located right uphill from town, which is great for those looking to get lost in paradise away from shops etc yet still be close enough to the amenities. The butterfly garden a peacefully beautiful place, filled with native plants and an abundance of winged creatures. The staff were friendly... More
