The good: location was nice because of the view, and you're basically in the forest so that gives it a nice feel. The bad: Great seeing monkeys and the wildlife, but the rooms don't have adequate netting so you end up being destroyed by mosquitos and wake up to bugs crawling all over you. The parking spaces are not suitable... More

I stayed at the Luna Llena for about five days and four nights. I enjoyed my time there. For a hostel, they were adequate in their modern conveniences: hot water for the showers and wifi in the common area. The kitchen is communal and supplied well with cooking supplies like pots and pans, dishes, etc. Not much by way of... More

Luna Llena is a lovely hostel/hotel right up the road from downtown Montezuma. It's set on the side of hill with jungle and ocean views. There's a main house and then other cabins/rooms scattered about the side of the hill property. It has a really magical and whimsical feel to it. While I was there the guests were friendly and... I stayed at Luna Llena unexpectedly my last night in Costa Rica. I had been staying in Santa Teresa for most of my trip and decided to head to Montezuma for the waterfalls and change of scenery. Luckily Luna Llena had openings in the 5 person dorm. It was a beautiful hotel/hostel tucked in a jungle mountain side with incredible... More

The common space and kitchen are great! Really inviting and homey. The kitchen can get quite busy at night with everyone making food, but it's fun. The wifi is great and they have lots of places to just relax and the main area has great views! However the rooms themselves are overpriced for what you are getting. The rooms attached... More

So I stayed here for 4 nights in a private cabin with closed balcony. What they mean by closed balcony is that there is a heap of vegetation in front of the cabins which makes the rooms feel dark. No problem, we are in the Costa Rican jungle after all. The cabin was very basic. Every sound outside could be... More

Luna Llena hotel is a beautiful place with little bungalows spread across a jungle garden. We enjoyed staying is such a peacefull, green location and loved the animals we saw near our room: a tukan, a coati, several monkeys and even armadillo. Our room was spotless and cleaned every day. The shared bathrooms were also spotless. We loved the communal... More

The staff here is so friendly and helpful, the spaces are inviting and comfortable, and the whole feel of the place is just magical. The actual rooms are very basic and the price is slightly higher than we had budgeted for, but we still felt like it was completely worth it. We enjoyed our stay here so much that we... More

I fell in love with this place and i returned one week later to stay again. This hotel is located just up the hill from town center- about a 3 min walk. Also reception is located at the top of about 50 stairs so if you have trouble with walking, knee problems, don't appreciate a bit of a hike to... More
