However, I didn't like the parking restrictions. It is limited and they do not assure you a space if you live the hotel for some hours. Birds steal food when eating at the terrace; so do not eat there there because you keep hungry until buy something new to eat.

Normally the hotels recommended in lonely planet are reliable. This place was not really clean, had horrible bathrooms and our rooms didn't even have windows. I would not recommend this hotel for anyone. There are much better accommodations to choose from.

Dear Nora, Thank you for your response. First of all, we have gone through all of our records to try to find your reservation and have no record of you staying with us during that time or any other dates. We also were not able to find such a serious complaint during that time either. We have no record of... More

My wife and I stayed three nights. Centrally located and delicious breakfast options included with nightly rate. Get the fresh fruit or huevos rancheros. Interior and exterior seating choices were nice to have depending on how we felt. Hang out at the bar and watch a nightly movie if you want. Staff were genuinely friendly. Especially Kevin who made us... More

Costa Rica hotels with higher prices generelly have their issues and the price level in Montezum is a topic for its own, so I will not comment on this. I stayed alone in a a room intended for 2 or 4 guests so for me the room size was ok. What I want to comment on however is the attitude... More

Dear Philipp Beyer, We appreciate your feedback and comments about our hotel. We believe that our prices are more than fair for a safe, clean and comfortable environment. You would be hard pressed to find the same quality in the center of Montezuma. In regards to your comments on breakfast, thank you for mentioning the high quality of our food.... More

The hotel is comfortable and in a central location -- steps away from the beach. The rooms have air-conditioning and a huge bathroom, and free wi-fi is available. The free breakfast is great, and you have access to the Ylang Ylang resort (a sister property) pool, restaurant and facilities -- about a 20 minute walk away along the beach. There... More

This hotel is very comfortable, clean, and friendly. Rooms are small and ours did not have a window, but air conditioning made up for that. Murals of bamboo and tropical plants on the walls also gave a feeling of spaciousness. The included breakfast was tasty and offered several options to choose from. One of the best amenities is that guests... More

This is a quaint little hotel with a great location. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very small and closed in, with no windows. There is no pool at this hotel. Breakfast is average.

We stayed here twice before, and loved it both times. The breakfast was amazing, the banana pancakes our favorite. The rooms were clean, and the staff was friendly. Our favorite thing about the hotel was the pool at their fancy resort, the Ylang Ylang. You could walk on the beach to it, it's about a 10 minute down a beautiful... More

This is a wonderful hotel for having a home base in the town center of Montezuma! It was extremely easy to find from the beach where the water taxi dropped us off from Jaco (check out Zuma Tours for an awesome transportation option) and the friendly staff were helpful and happy to see us! We really can't say enough wonderful... More

The El Sano Banano set a new high mark for me in hotel experience. The room are amazingly decorated with hand painted jungle murals. The architecture is fantastic, inspired by adobe huts with rounded corners. The staff always went above and beyond in helping us find good local spots. The food in the restaurant was fantastic. The AC was powerful... More
