Arenas del Mar is the perfect location for a Costa Rican honeymoon. Their staff are all outstanding - friendly and always helpful. We had a beautiful Ocean View superior room which also happened to be a great room for monkey viewing. The room is one the small side, but our outside deck was comfy and huge. (We did get woken... Just returned from a 5 night trip to Costa Rica which we spent 4 nights at Arenas del Mar. We absolutely loved this place and can't wait to return. The setting is amazing...once you make the trek up and down the windy roads to the welcome center where you are greeted by a friendly staff member in a golf cart... More

my wife and I stayed at arenas del mar recently. The setting, room, employees all were very nice and quite luxurious. however, I must state for the record that my wife got a bad case of food poisoning at this hotel. Luckily there is a doctor on call - with an iv and antibiotics we were able to go to... More

From the moment that we checked in, the hotel staff was focused on making us comfortable and relaxed. Arenas del Mar is an absolutely beautiful hotel with fantastic views of the ocean and rainforest. While we were at the hotel we were able to see white face capuchin monkeys, sloths, and various types of lizards. The hotel has two beautiful... More

This was one of the most amazing places we have ever stayed. The hotel is beautiful, hidden in the jungle, right on the beach, surrounded by wildlife. The staff was highly professional, very friendly, and met every need before we even asked. We can't wait to return!

I stayed at Arenas del Mar for an extended period of time. The staff was more welcoming than any other hotel staff I have ever seen. Not only do they learn the guests names, but they know things about the guests and work very hard to make the experience better than you expected. The beach access is something that I... More

We loved this hotel, and I wanted to leave a practical review of all of the info I wanted to know before we went on our trip. Hope this helps everyone! 1. The hotel is down a very steep road that leads to the beach. You will spend a min of $9-10 for each taxi ride that you take into... More

My first impression was arriving here by public taxi because the private car that I had hired refused to travel down the sharp incline to Arenas del Mar, but once there, The staff was very friendly and wonderfully helpful. Our room was ideal, comfortable and very modern. Skip the highly praised dining room however for the suberb food at the... More

This place really has everything. I recommend requesting room #703A or B for the most spectacular view, crashing wave ambience and some porch privacy. The food was excellent-lunch and dinners priced reasonably. Fresh vegetables and fruits throughout the menus. The hotel provided excellent guides for our birdwatching and kayak tours. Everyone we spoke to enjoyed their tours of rafting and... More

We stayed the first 5 nights of our honeymoon at Arenas del Mar and we loved it! It’s more expensive than some of the other resorts in the area, but it’s worth it. Here’s an overview… Beaches: This resort has the best beach access in Manuel Antonio with access to 2 beaches—one public and one private. Both beaches felt very... More
