Let me start by saying that the service here is unparalleled. Everyone was SO friendly and very eager to help in any and every way possible. They were so responsive prior to the trip and organized every detail. The hotel itself is incredibly overpriced for what you get. The hotel rooms need to be updated - broken tiles, water stains,... Thank you for the wonderful comments on our service and the level of appreciation our staff has for our guests. Now, to the other points. Your comments on our prices it totally out of reality. We agree, there are numerous hotels and restaurants in the local area that are considerably cheaper ......but like anything else in life, you get what... More

All fancy sea side resorts have some really nice aspects. Gaia is no exception in that regard. Terrific food, stunning view, dedicated and very personable staff. Quirky room layout, but no biggie. However, the owners' dedication and willingness to buy land and restore it is way past awesome. 14 acres, and a program to re-introduce endangered jungle birds earned my... More

Thanking our guests from up North for their wonderful comments on our 5 star resort. We earned our 5 stars when we opened just over 8 years ago and are grateful to be able to say that we earn them every day. Hard work and dedication to our guests makes for a experience that will be remembered for years to... More

Wow.....what a wonderful review by some wonderful guests. Thank you for choosing us and thank you for sharing with others your magical experience here at Gaia Hotel & Reserve. The very name of Gaia, the Greek Goddess of Earth, shares itself at every turn on our property. Water, earth, wind and fire are the elements of our surroundings........the elements of... More

Needs painting, broken tiles everywhere, unfriendly, restaurant very over priced. Next to a noisy main road., On morning of departure complained in office and waited in room for phone call but got no reply.

I simply have to question the motivation behind this most disturbing review. Firstly, our entire complex was thoroughly painted in October/November 2014 a it is done every year. Secondly, we have no tiles on our property.....our rooms are with wood and stone. Where are you looking? Our outside space is again wood and concrete. NO TILES! Moreover, our resort is... More

What an experience! This hotel has some of the most breathtaking views. The pool is unique and we were able to get up close and personal with the sloths who were lounging nearby! Service was top notch...I actually got really burnt my first day there and the concierge took a personal trip to a pharmacy nearby to get me some... More

I am split on this hotel. On the one hand, I came down with an especially bad stomach bug and the bed I spent 3 days in was very comfortable. The bathrooms and bedrooms were spacious and clean. On the other hand, this property just doesn't feel like it fits in at Manuel Antonio. The architecture and layout is awkward... More

Thanking our recent guests for their very subjective review of our Gaia Hotel & Reserve. We build this establishment 9 years ago when there were no 5 Star resorts in the Manuel Antonio area. When we received our 5 star status by the Costa Rican Tourist Board, they stated that the only regret they had was that they did not... More

More like a motel than a hotel, no privacy, had to keep curtains shut also room door opens onto walkway, only place to sit by our room was in corridor outside hotel, also a constant drip of water from above made this impossible. Handel broken on coffee pot. The bathroom was very small and narrow ...literally in a wardrobe. Food... More

My heavens.......a very unusual review to say the least. As this is my home as well as a resort of 5 star quality, I have to point you to our numerous local and international awards for our service, quality of rooms, recognition in the culinary arena and overall serene and zen ambiance that we create. Too bad you did not... More

Our first trip to Costa Rica and what a trip it was! After taking the red eye, we were quite tired in the early am upon arrival. Just got back from an almost one week stay at the GAIA. On my list of the top 5 luxury resorts I've stayed in the world. The staff was top notch and the property was breathtaking. I also can't rave enough about the food at La Luna. So glad we saved this for the last leg of our trip...it was... More

What a beautiful place! Nice infinity pool with amazing views. Great sunset views. Restaurant food actually pretty good. Complimentary breakfast and complimentary 20 minute spa service. Very intimate, safe, and personal. Would definately return to this resort if going back to this area of the country.
