I stayed in the Makanda by the Sea and WOW..... was I impressed. It has recently been all remolded and there pool is amazing !! The thing I like the most about the pool was it had a fresh water pool system on it. No chlorine and no salt allowed me to open my eyes and not worry about chemicals.... More

This hotel simply cannot be beat when it comes to privacy, beauty, wildlife, view, or food! We celebrated my husband's 50th birthday there and I don't know if he has ever had a better b-day! We both loved it and are already trying to plan a trip back. We have traveled all over Central America and while we have loved... More

Stayed in April 2014. Great hotel in a beautiful area of Costa Rica. The area is touristy but the hotel feels secluded. The pool is beautiful, especially early in the morning before everyone (besides the monkeys) is awake. The private beach is a hike but at least it doesn't require a bus or taxi. There is no one at the... More

Stayed here with my GF and we had a blast. Quaint hotel. nice clean rooms with AC. Howler monkeys and white-faced monkeys roaming the property. Breakfast served in bed with a quick phone call. Would stay here again.

Wonderful place to stay in Costa Rica. The villas are beautiful, breakfast served every morning in your room, amazing views and tropical surroundings. The staff was super welcoming and informative. Food was great. We'll be back!

Cute, quaint, boutiquey. Its nice, well kept, and you pretty much have the place to yourselves. Breakfast was memorable! Darwin was super helpful! The "trail " behind the hotel to the beach is daunting, try at your own risk, and there is wildlife galore !

The price is absolutely over rated for Costarica standards! Poor service and old rooms! Staff extremely unpolite (when my boyfriend asked help for the luggage the man at the reception (a little fat man) answered - smiling - that he was strong enough to carry the luggage by its own. Speechless! Is this a 5 stars hotel? Definitely not! Plus,... More

We absolutely loved the location, priceless. All the nature around it was amazing. But the staff were to loud, specially the security guards. They were making jokes and kidding around with the guy from the front desk. We'll stay again but next time we'll make the suggestion to be more formal and polite.

We stayed here as a half way point both coming and going from Osa Peninsula. We absolutely loved it!!! The service was outstanding, and the restaurant was sooooo delicious. shockingly so! Breakfast is served in your room but don't miss out on dinner served at their restaurant. The staff was so friendly. The rooms were gorgeous and well appointed. I... More

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights a week ago. The location is perfect with the ocean view. The breakfast is pretty neat as well. The best part of the hotel is the quietness and low number of guests. We loved going to the beach and even though it is a little hike back, well worth it. Nobody... More
